Why aren't we seeing more turbo 2018's?

Also for cars with 3.55 gears have a problem with 7th gear slipping. Once you get up in horsepower atleast. Seems around 750-800 7th gear cant hold the power. Exedy needs to come up with upgraded clutches

Hmmm . I was able to go 10.2 @138 with the whipple tune /3.625 pulley and bone stock exhaust without 7 th gear slipping . It did start to slip when I started logging for my PBD tune but thankful that was due to low transmission fluid (no leaks so must have been underfilled from the factory)
Not slipped since I topped it off even logging the race gas tune which is making 21-22* .E85 is next but I assume the race gas tune must be making close to 800 rwhp (not been on dyno yet ).
Another forum member who has gone 9’s on E85 has been getting slip in 6th (I think He has the 3.15 rear end) and he said the tuner thinks it may be the valve body

I do have a “spare “ iron 3.31 rear end that came out of my KB car with the Magnum Tremec (was a dog till I swapped it for 4.10)

Just wondering if that would be better especially since it’s stronger then the aluminum 3.55.

It did whine like a banshee when it was in the KB car so I think I will leave it as a spare for if /when I have problems with the 3.55’s or start to get 7h gear slip .
Hopefully excedy will come out with a rebuild kit before racing starts next year .

If you do 5.5psi with 91 octane your guna be disappointed like i was. I had like 7.5psi on 91 octane spraying meth (not tuned for meth) and got 600whp. Switched to E85 now im running 3 setups 10lbs 700whp 12lbs 750whp 14lbs 800whp. Don;t bother using 91 octane if your guna get FI, the gas here in CA is horrible, go straight to E85. unless your guna run low boost, but doesn't make sense to only run 5.5 on a turbo set up. I have a 15 GT but im sure the 91 wouldn't be any better in a 18 or newer

Because they come with a wonderful amount of HP off the lot and dutifully address the lacking low-end torque of the 15-17 engine.

my car is 3.55 no slipping..... 10.0 at 135 10.1 at 138 10.3 at 141 shit I've made 77 passes on my vortech, I want to go turbo now, should be over the winter

BTW do they still have the tram up in the Sandia Mountains? Rode that tram when I was a kid. That was an awesome thing. 1.5 miles between towers and better than 1100 feet off the ground as I remember.

One of my best friends family owns the tram his father built it It is awesome

I can only speak for myself on this one, but for me it is a combination of the Procharger kit being ideal since my car is my DD. I don't need anymore power than mid 600's on my street car. I love the turbo feel and that is the route I have always gone. Another reason for me is I don't find the Hellion Sleeper Kit practical for a DD car. Too many "what ifs" with where the turbos are located for me to justify spending the money on that kit for a DD.

everything perfect i drive almost everyday i did put the top mount kit back on though as i like to see the turbos and don't care about a sleeper look

whats funny about that? i prefer a top mount kit and Hellion put the sleeper kit on for bowling green race and i had them put back on after...its not my sleeper kit its Hellions

Michael yours might not be slipping yet... Once you go turbo or put a smaller pulley on e85 youll find 7th gear to not be too friendly.

I didnt know you had top mount kit on, I think that is awesome you had the sleeper kit on for just bowling green hence the "lmao" not the avg guy can do that.
