I’ve been watching (and casually searching) here in the M6g forum, and I’m surprised that this has not been talked about! When I had my WRX it was all the rage, and - while I never took the step myself - it did seem like a great idea. My Volvo *and* my son’s Impreza has it on top of the motor and it’s the bomb for convenience & mess reduction.

Has anyone done it? Considered it?

I never bothered with that because I have to get the car off the ground to get to the oil drain. After that it's only four seven mm screws for the plastic cover and the filter is easy.

I did an oil change on my NZ mustang yesterday, and where the oil flap is on ours there's huge chunk of metal blocking it. I'm assuming because of the RHD conversion they've had to move stuff around. I had to remove the belly plan and squeeze it through the sway bar.... definitely keen to relocate it.
I've got a sandwich plate already for an oil cooler so thinking about putting a filter on the return line and blocking off the filter....

How secure are the rubber hoses at all of the fitting junctures once installed?

Only asking because it would seem to be a maintenance concern to monitor for possible leaks.

Also one other note - if using a modified vehicle on any track, isn’t it mandatory that any oil or fuel lines are encased in braided stainless steel lines?

These are braided steel lines. They simply have an additional black nylon weave on the outside. Hoses like this do not require any maintenance.

I have this kit on my eu/au mustang here in Australia . Well worth the money, no matter how hot the day is it still sits just under half temp wise. You do however need a lhs US engine mount once the factory oil manifold is removed, easily sourced from CJ's.
