In any video you see for any car when the driver does spirited driving or is obviously going to fast they always say they are in Mexico. Is it just a long running joke that started as a misguided attempt at a legal loophole? Is there some video that started the meme and it just stuck?

I saw one even better yesterday. The girl said she was doing 20 to 40 pulls comparing the GT to the GT 350. My god, that car needs a blower if it takes full throttle and 3 full gears to get up to 40!
