Unfortunately the 295/30 Toyo is only 26" diameter, 1.7" smaller than the 275/40 factory rear and 1.1" smaller than the 255/40 front.

The thread title says PP2 options. Stock tire size on a PP2 is 305/30/19. Stock wheel size is 19x10.5" front and 19x11" rear. 305/30/19 is 26.2" diameter, so a 295/30/19 is only 0.2" smaller. I personally wouldn't run a narrower tire than 295 on an 11" wheel. 285 would be the narrowest I'd run on a 10.5" wheel. For PP2, the 295/30/19 would be fine for front and back. The Toyo is one of the few a/s tires I've found close to the stock 305/30/19 tire size. You can buy dedicated snow tires in this size, but OP says he is looking specifically for an a/s tire.

Where do you see a 295/30 in the DWS -06 ??
I got confused I suppose. The DWS-06 is only offered in 285/30. The ExtremeContact DWS is offered in 295/30.

If I'm stuck in 285 does it make sense to go with a 285/35? If that's an option on factory wheels I think I'd jump back to Michelins AS3+'s

As I'm bouncing around ten different ideas is there a difference in fitment between a PP1 and PP2 wheel setup? Could I get PP1 take off's and just mount an all season to it? That's probably a cheaper way to get started for now.

I realize there will be a trade off in handling.

I'd be hesitant to run a 285 on an 11" wheel. Not saying it can't be done, but widest recommended wheel width for a 285 is 10.5".

Don't see any issues with that, but I was thinking you wanted to sport those PP2 wheels.

I really don't think you'd be disappointed with the Toyo's. They would be good below freezing, have pretty good dry grip, and do fine in rain or snow. Not to mention I believe they have a 45,000 mile tread warranty. If I was going to drive mine in colder weather as a predominately daily driver, the Toyo would be the tire I'd pick and mount them on the PP2 wheels (unless some future wider options become available). I just haven't seen anything else wider than a 285 in an a/s.

Just for reference, I took a pic of front tire on my daughter's car. These are at 30K miles without being rotated (due to staggered setup). I'd say they are good for another 20K.

I suppose I'm stuck on options.

1) Get Ten-10 wheels and mount all season tires on them for an all in of about 3k. Spring time install PP2's back on

2) Get PP1 take offs and mount all season. In the spring mount the PP2's back up and sell the PP1's and continue to save for a wheel/combo

3) Continue to look for take off PP2 wheels (Good Luck) or hope to factory Refurb'd ones and mount the all seasons to those. I like this idea the most as I really like the look of the PP2 wheels.

4) Mount some A/S's to the factory wheels and continue the hunt for another set of PP2 wheels. Then I'd mount the SC2's (for now) and eventually the MPS4's to them. Rotate two sets of factory wheels.

Get OE Wheels LLC 19x10s and mount A/Ss on them, or SVE Drifts. Both are inexpensive options that look good and fit the Brembos.

Hey, im from MD and will also be daily driving a pp2.
Just wanted to let you know what I'm personally planning on doing for the winter months coming up.
Im gonna go with squared 19x9 pp1 replica wheel from cjponys. (real cheap like 165 a pop)
Then wrap them in some blizzaks and throw them on for the winter months. (probably novemberish to early march?)
For the summer months, im gonna just do the same 305/30/19 but with mp4s, on the pp2 wheels. (once those sport cup 2s are done)

I do wish however, that i could rock those pp2 wheels all year long, but you know how the weather is around here.
From the general consensus though, it seems all seasons are mediocre at best, and in terms of performance, its better to just do two dedicated tire/wheel setups.

My ideal set up would be to have two sets of the pp2 wheels, one wrapped in the mp4s, and one wrapped in a winter tire.

Let me know what you end up doing for your wheels/tires!
I wonder how much a set of these pp2 wheels would cost

If you are thinking about all season tires on your PP2 this winter, consider 285/40-19 Michelin's Pilot Alpin PA4 N-Spec snow tires for the winter months. Tread width is 10.8" and the diameter is 27.9". A 305/35/-19 Michelin Pilot Super Sport summer tire is 27.4" in diameter and has a tread width of 10.7". And the Pilot Alpin PA4 N-Spec fits on rims that are 9.5 to 11" wide.
Just a thought for those in the colder states.

I ended up going with Ten-10 wheels and AP3+'s in 285/35/19 all around. I ordered the wheels in 10x19. Figured I'll be giving up some contact patch but it is a rotatable setup which I'll probably do each time they go back on the car. The All Season also allows me an option to run if one of the SC2's gets a flat. Once the SC2's wear out I'll be getting some MPS4's. Or I might try and sell the SC2's in the spring with about 1000 miles on them and recoup some cost. I haven't decided yet.

I don't see a need for snow tires where I'm at. If it is snowing the Mustang is going to stay parked. I have a second vehicle to drive.

Maryland has started to put down a brine mixture when they are calling for snow. The Mustang will not be out until all that garbage washes away with a good rain.

Snow isn't so much the issue here as ice, and nothing really works on ice so I'll just stay home for a day or two. A week or three below 40*F and sometimes down into the teens is a reality, so hopefully a decent all-season can handle that. I went with the 285/35-19 as well, and going to try the Cooper Zeon RS3-G1. I've had good luck with Cooper products in the past, and they have a $100 rebate through the end of the month. SVE GT7's for wheels, everything should be here in time for installation this weekend.

I had to join this forum after I learned I wasn't the only PP2 owner looking for a good A/S setup.

I think I'll be doing something similar to OP by getting a second set of wheels for it all together in a square 19x10 setup. I haven't fully decided on the tires yet though: the Michelins, BFG Comp 2 A/S, possibly the Nitto Motivos seem like common choices for Mustangs. Are any of those bad choices? I know not to expect Cup 2 levels of performance from any A/S tire, I just want it to not be terrible.

Let us know how you like the Michelins once you get it, OP!
