went to the track yesterday for the first time with my stage 1 whipple thats still warranty compliant and made 4 passes . first pass on street tire was 11.04 at 106 because the car was moving around on the top end switched to mt drag radials and went 10.79 @ 139,10.80 @132 and 10.70 @133 .Thats the newest whipple tune 93 pump gas with the 90 mm throttle body zero other performance mods . You wouldnt even know it wasnt just a stock 5.0 if you drove it the corner store to get milk. 10 sec car and a full 3 yr 36,000 warranty is right there
Very nice .
What was the DA and can you share your slips ?
Did you make any passes with first tune to compare ?
I want to give the latest tune a go before switching to E85/PBD.
I went best of 10.5@138 on their very first tune . Second update did not work on my car and I think they used the logs of my passes for the last update .
I am hoping the new tune will 60 better

Did you happen to log the pass ?
I am hoping they at least fixed the throttle spike in first gear (said it was a safety feature).
Hoping for at least low 10’s with 93/boostane especially now that we have fall air .

Olaosunt, I can’t say for sure but this most recent cal (same one you got last Saturday) sure seems stronger. I used to be able to log data in 4th because it would hook, but now it usually spins in 4th even. According to my log data, it accelerates as fast in 5th now as it did in 4th before.

Yeah.
I have not had a chance to test it since a second DSS CF drive shaft broke .I was supposed to have received the QAI replacement last Thursday but never arrived (I think some one stole it when it got to KS lol).

I have been afraid to run the stocker but may be I should have (not heard of one breaking yet ) .

LMR were great and sent another out but won’t get here till Wednesday.
Only one more test and tune day around here on 10/31.I am more inclined to run one of my “race cars “ ...especially since I am too chicken to drive them to Us 41- 100 miles away which will run at the weekends in Nov,weather permitting (I have less fear driving the 18 that distance but shift can still happen as I found out with the DS . Lol)

Hopefully I will also get a chance to run the PBD /E85 tune and get that 9 before the winter tires go on (going to daily drive it , but have the Audi for real bad days )

That's pretty strong 1/8 and 1/4 mile mph for just a stage 1 and I assume 4 inch pulley.
I am very impressed with the 1.6X 60 ft as the best my car has done with the stage 2(old tune) 3.625 pulley is a high 1.7x.
What was the DA ?
Looks like the new tune(might be different for the stage 1) might be the ticket for a low 10 second pass

it was the 4.00 pulley and im not sure what the DA was. the driveability of the new tune is much better and feels stronger down low for sure

We do indeed offer discounts for forums members. Feel free to PM me or just give a call in and we'll be glad to speak to you about the setup and your goals. Also be sure to be on the lookout as our Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals will be announced shortly and you can bet that Whipple will be included.

Thanks!
What is a realistic RWHP rating on Whipple with stock 2018 5.0 with Steeda X pipe on 91?

You'll make around the 650-660rwhp mark on 91 octane. On 93 you'll make around the 700rwhp mark. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks, Jared

I've got the Roush set up and am pleased with it overall. I was looking at the Whipple and to be honest, it was a toss-up.
there was an incentive to purchase the Roush so I went that way.
I sure wish it sounded like that Whipple!
I don't think you will go wrong with either choice. Oh, and the name. I don't like the name Whipple! (grin)

Another advantage to the Whipple is their planned stage 3 /flex tune .

I have been talking with them quite a bit since I have sent them logs of the tune on both my GT and GT 350 .

I have been real happy with their customer service and quick responses .I dont think they would want me to share details on the flex tune since they plan to release the kit in 45 days and release info at SEMA.

I think it would be worth the wait for those with a whippe tune who have not already switched to Lund /PBD and want to be able run E85 .
