Anyone consider using "flex seal" to mount side scoops instead of 3m tape?

Follow the directions clean/prep the area and the 3m tape works great.I've had the car at 125mph gone thru high pressure car washes still on the car 1yr later.

I can say that clear boat sealant is the way to go. 3M tape will break down eventually at the edges. Cars that spend more time outside will see it happen faster than garage queens. If you use 3M tape seal around it or use a combo of both.

I agree with this 100%. Prep is everything with these. I have window louvers and side scoops with zero issues. I did order a roll of 3m VHB mounting tape and some extra adhesive promoter wipes to be extra sure. Whenever I install, I clean the area with soap and water really well. After that dries I go back over the area with alcohol. Once that dries I apply the adhesive promoter, and let it dry until you see a white haze where you applied. Once that is done you can mount the scoop, and have zero issues. The whole process can take close to an hour if you clean the area well and wait for them to dry, but it is well worth it.Follow the directions clean/prep the area and the 3m tape works great.I've had the car at 125mph gone thru high pressure car washes still on the car 1yr later.
