When moving in 1st/2nd gear when accelerating from 2-7 miles per hour I hear a rattle noise that you can only hear when at operating temperature. I took it to the dealer and they said it was the backing plate rubbing rotor, brought it back then they said it was the clutch, replaced my clutch and I just picked her up today and I hear it again :frusty::frusty::frusty:. The tech tried to tell me he doesn't hear it anymore and said "Come on brooo" So I left left the Ford with my Mustang. It is really annoying to take off in first with a car next to me and the rattle bounces off and back towards my ears, killing me. It's driving me nuts and gets louder, all I can see is the Cuban tech laughing and saying "Come on Broo":headbonk:. I called Ford customer service manager and left him a voicemail.

I was just going to make a post regarding the same issue you are facing, except I'm a v6.

I know there was a TSB regarding a faulty resonator and some have reported that it fixed there rattling issue, however I even took my resonator out and placed it with a magnaflow X pipe and it still does it.

The rattling noise I can hear when I take off or when youre engine breaking at times or in the lower rpm range is when you can hear it again. Mine sounds like its coming underneath, I'm guessing around the driveshaft area....

I stopped by Ford today and test drive another GTPP off the lot and it had the same noise but mine is louder. Service manager heard it and will let Ford know. I have lost all faith in this getting resolved. I'm thinking of just getting headers and exhaust and hope I ca drown out the noise.

something is wrong, mine does not grind at all. Most likely the transmission if the clutch was replaced. might need a teardown to pinpoint the problem exactly.

Mine is alot louder than the other 5.0 I test drove off the dealer's lot. The service manager even said to me "Honestly, I didn't hear the grind nose from the car off our lot but your car, I heard it. I'll confirm with Ford on your case and see if we can get an engineer to come test drive both cars". But after reading everyone's encounters with Ford, they will most likely say it's normal. :headbonk:

I had some friends tell me that it's the flex pipe. and I think I saw a post somewhere that mentioned they had a rattling noise and replacing flex pipe fixed the rattle problem.

An update on my rattle issue - took it to my muffler guy, and verified that it was the flex pipe causing the noise. He went ahead and replaced both of them, and I no longer have that annoying rattling :)

Flex pipe as in the little piece coming off of the manifolds right before the suitcase (or x or h pipe if you have that installed)??? Isn't this just on the driver side?

Mustang GT premium 2017 manual
Hi!

I had previously a 2015 Mustang V6 manual, and finally I just buy a new one, 2017 GT premium manual last july.

After lots of research I found you had/have exactly the same trouble I have on my 2017 GT.
I have a metallic rattle/grinding noise at low rpm (between 750 to 1000rpm) in 1,2 and 3 gear fully engaged, clutch released.
It happen all the time and the noise is really painful for my ears, so you know the story, Ford told me it's normal!
I went to a specialist who told me it may come from the clutch but probably more from the exhaust/catalyst...
I bought Ford maintenance manual/shop manual, I found lot of interesting information about their troubleshooting policy...

I'm really curious about your experience, have you find the problem finally on your car? What was the solution?

Thank you for your help!!

Something is probably making a noise in protest to be lugged down so drastically low of an rpm.
I could not imagine shifting gears into second at 2 to 7 mph.
Must be at about 75 rpm if in 2nd at 2 mph.

Like I said previously, this is the rattle noise I have when I driving, engaged in gear and not touching the clutch.
It happen when I drive in a parking lot, in traffic, or just a start from a stop.
All the time I drive at low speed. Like between 750 to 1000rpm in 1st OR 2nd like this video... (Engine Idle is around 600rpm)
Very annoying noise! See at 0.04, 0.08 and 0.16

What do you think? Someone with this issue? Is it what you had Ktodd1989?
