I took my GT350 to the dyno last night to get some baseline numbers and I was so disappointed with the results. We did two pulls and both were in 4th gear. First pull 423hp at 336Ib-ft. I never really research any baseline dyno numbers before so I thought that was ok, but those numbers didn’t sit right with me. We did a second pull and it did a little better, 429hp and 340Ib-ft. Last night was about 55 degrees so it was perfect dyno weather.

Anyway, I did some research on baseline dyno numbers and everyone is around the same, 450-460hp and 350-360Ib, do you guys think something is wrong with my car, because now I’m starting to think so? I only have 3,700 miles on her and she feels great besides these disgraceful dyno numbers. What do guys think? Any comments will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Dyno's are a tuning tool, not every one will read the same. If you really think something is wrong with your car, you could try another dyno and compare numbers then?

Why kinda Dyno was the car on?

Most dyno jets show the 2018 stangs between 402-420ish HP and 390's torque.

On a stock car you do not have 450-460hp to the wheel, nobody does.

This is exactly reason why some places increase their reading by 10-15%, just to make people happy. I don’t understand why people are so bent over by a dyno number..
only useful part of dyno is reading delta of before and after mod, to see what type of gain has happened. And that should also be done on the same dyno, same day, same temperature to make things relevant.

You were in the wrong gear 5th is 1:1 on our cars!
You don't need to be in 1:1 your talking a few lbs of torque difference, hp is the same between 3rd, 4th, 5th .. Its just a gear...

I was thinking of bringing it to another dyno just to see. The car feel fine. I got worried because, after researching other dyno numbers I thought mines was really low.

I did it on a dyno jet. I’m not big on dyno numbers just wanted to see where the cars was.

I’ll post a video once I edit the video. The car sounds amazing!

You are so hilariously wrong it isn't even funny lol

The dynamometer itself assumes you are in the 1:1 gear... research how a dyno works. OP, go back, do a pull in 5th and you'll get better numbers.

Uhh no.. Why don't you go dyno it in different gears, say 4 / 5 / 6 .. your talking single digit number difference in torque.

Your horsepower is your HP.. The gear doesn't give you more HP... its just a gear! Go to a dyno shop and ask them.

I believe the numbers you're quoting might be for the GT, not the GT350. There are stock GT350 owners who've seen 450-460 hp at the wheels. Here's one example. You can fast forward towards the end for the result.

Those numbers are low for any dyno, a Dynojet in particular. Did they happen to dyno any other cars that day for comparison? How high did they rev it?
