Mine interfered with the belt off. Once the belt is on, it keeps them apart.

Wrapped up today with a closed up engine. The goal for this weekend. Still a lot to be done but I think it is down hill from here.
There was one big problem. The provided screws to mount the fuel rails to the SC are too long, by a lot. Whipple provides a 22mm screw but these bottom out before pulling against the rail. Not good. A quick trip Lowes yielded a set of 16mm which worked perfect. I am guessing there was a design change on the rail mount. The screw change was missed. I tried to capture with pictures.

Here goes:

Lots different from the 15-17 - I’m watching your thread for details as I prepare to do my first 18z. Stage 2 with DW injectors it looks like?

I hadn't removed it from the cardboard box while doing my inventory, looks like it had been painted even while damaged haha. The packaging from whipple was very good so I don't believe it happened then.

I did go take a look and it appears to be fine.

Like you I never really looked at it.

BTW, for anyone following for their own install, the parts list is crap! I could not even find the o-ring I am missing on it....

Just to make sure you didnt receive old stock, check what it says for your intake tube on the inventory list. Quite a few of us had it say "BO" as it was back ordered when they sent it out. I agree about the parts list being pretty difficult and mine wasn't even printed straight on the paper

Mine was BO but I got it a few days after the kit arrived.

Hoping to have it on the road by the weekend.

The damage to the heat exchanger doesn't look like it will effect its performance, the top plate doesn't have coolant flowing through it, the row below it is only slight bend, and the one below that is fine, the few bent fins, well that would happen while driving anyway. If it was me, I'd toss it on the car and if it doesn't leak then it's staying on, but im impatient AF

They mailed me another and let me ship it vsck afterwards so it wasn't horrible. Definitely didn't want to install a damaged part after the long wait I had already endured for the stage 2 . Luckily the OP didn't have issues

Well had a set back tonight. The drive belt they provided will not go on. I have the adjustable idler set at the lowest point or most slack and the belt will not go on even with the spring tensioner cranked all the way over.

I triple checked the pullies and all are per instructions.

Belt size is 82.5" and measured that. It's within an 1/8", on the high side.

So something is not to the instructions. I know I have a different spring tensioner because when I called Whipple today to go over a couple of things I asked about the arrows referred to in the instructions. Was told they added these to the tensioner. Also other poster on this thread indicated they had interference with the AC compressor. I do not. So it seems to me something has changed in the geometery of the pulley system. Could be the diameter of the water pump pulley but that is a stretch. I am thinking an 83.5" belt should do it. This leave room to adjust the idler pulley for stretch later.

Anyone else seen this?

And it was going so well....

Mine was super tight as well, but I managed to get it on. I think they shipped some of the kits with a belt size too small. I haven't swapped mine out yet, but I feel like an extra inch would be about right.
