I already said it's supposed to beat a GT350. Since that information actually came from a high ranking Ford engineer I win right
You missed the joke.

I think everyone hopes it's faster than the ZL11LE that's been out for a while now, and is faster than a GT350R.

Mine was meant in jest as well. Well, not that part about the information coming from a Ford engineer. Just the part about me winning...just like a ZL1 1LE does on track...for now.

Not true at all. The Z06 simply has too much power for its chassis. The GT350/R, that is not the case. The chassis can handle the power it has and a lot more. Similar cars such as the Viper ACR has been said to be very easy to drive on track and very friendly at the limit, and they have near enough the same outputs as the Z06. It simply doesn't put power down well enough. And you saying it isn't hard to drive hard, I don't mean to be rude, but you are by no means, not even remotely, pushing that car hard. When a racer as seasoned, well experienced, and skilled as Randy says its a very difficult car to drive at the limit, I think its safe to say that's more accurate than the average joe "pushing" it along a backroad.
Thanks for telling me what I have or haven't done with my Z06 or GT350. I didn't realize you had full access to my life. Where is the camera so I can wave hi to you?

In the meantime I'll provide my opinion based on first hand experience of both cars on and off track. While I like Randy he's just another opinion which should be taken into serious consideration but is by no means the final word.

Sorry man, it's called perspective. Reality is, if you or any other owners were able to truly push the car to its limits, you could duplicate Randy's or beat Randy's laptimes if you think he isn't well versed enough to take seriously, correct? If you can't match his laptimes, hate to break it to ya... but you aren't pushing the car lol you know those record times that the Vette drivers do around VIR and other tracks? If you can't replicate them... you aren't pushing the car to its limits. That is just the reality of it, don't take it personal. Pretty safe for me to assume that you aren't in the 0.1% of people who can truly do that, so, no camera necessary.

I do love the C7's though regardless, just prefer the Stingray/GS. Enjoy your car on track :)

I love and respect Z06.. I mean it put down 7:13 secs at the ring and an "Unofficial" time of 7:10 from GM. 1:25 secs at Big willow beating the Huracan, GTR Nismo and a bunch of cars.. But if you watch Randy P drive it vs the Viper ACR, that back end gets loose at the max limit. Too much power, a lot of oversteer that requires corrections.

Not once did J_Maher mentioned that the GT350R is superior on the track vs a Z06. He's just expressing what the pro drivers are saying, it's a handful at the max.

Is the M7 (auto's are much more prone to overheating) a beast at the track? No one is denying that..

Are you guys done with the penis measuring yet? For effs sake, get over yourselves already. This thread is about the GT500, not who drives better. You both suck for dragging this thread down.

I saw a couple of Youtube videos from well known Mustang guys.

They claimed the GT500 will be similar to the Acura NSX with 2 motors, gas & elec. Over 800HP and 800TQ.

First I've heard of anything like this. Although it sounds interesting.

If Ford could build a GT500 like this for way less than Half the price of the NSX ($200,000.00) that would be interesting.

I'll see if I can find those videos and post em up.

You should try a C7 Z for yourself! And as you state if only .1% can do what Randy does then whats the relevance of his comments about "at the limits"? Seems irrelevant if most aren't capable of getting there anyways. They weren't too fond of the new ZR1 or the mustang PP2 at best drivers car either. Which is a little funny because Car and Driver really seemed to like both cars at lightning lap.

It’s fake. We won’t see a Sixth Gen Hybrid and we won’t see an AWD Mustang in the short/mid term either (6th or 7th Gen)

My guess is no one here can squeeze every second out of any of these cars. But as a ex owner of a ACR-E, driving a true downforce car is a game changer. Makes you look like a hero and gives you soo much confidence. I had to sell mine to buy a new house and just picked up a gt350r to fill the void. The R is a great car but it’s just not in the same league as the big boys.
