I know everyone gets crap for tinting their headlights and then complaining about the brightness of the lights. I love the look of my tinted lights during the day but miss the brightness at night. Has anyone upgraded their stock HID bulbs to a brighter one and noticed a difference? If so, which bulbs and where did you get them? Thanks!

You realize that generally speaking, going up the kelvin scale will give you a bulb that outputs less lumens, correct?

These look to be rated around 3200 lumens which probably isn't far off from what our stock bulbs are at.

OP: Your best shot would be something like an Osram Night Breaker Laser if you want the brightest bulbs. These put out about 3500 lumens (stock is probably in the 2800-3000 range, not exactly sure. Anyone know what stock bulb we use?). Keep in mind that D3S bulbs are rather expensive due to having the ignitor built into the base.

Philips Xtreme vision would also be another valid choice, this is the Philips competitor to the Night Breaker Lasers

These are the bulbs I'm eventually going to get which have a pure white look while still giving off about 3400lumens. I have the CBI's in a couple of other cars and I've loved them, this is the newer Osram CBB (Cool Blue Boost)

Don't tint your headlights. If you want them darker, open them and paint them, or have a professional do it for you.

Like everyone else said. Dont be the cool kid that puts a giant slab of tint over the whole lens and then try to fight that to get more light with a brighter bulb.....

Take them apart, paint the inside AND get a brighter bulb as mentioned above from TheRetroFitSource.
