Less boost in the midrange? More timing.
I'll have to check my logs but I don't believe timing changed pre/post gate. Since you're nowhere near the timing cap until near redline, you can run plenty in the midrange since you'll still be at "low" boost even on a gated setup, just a few psi higher than before.

P1sc is a tiny blower. Wastegates is for big blowers that are underspun. You can run a 4.50 or slightly slower pulley on a P1sc 5.0 with supporting mods and not see 11psi unless youre way up in the RPMs. My opinion is still the to remove the WG and run a pulley that will keep him at 10psi. easier to tune, blower wont pump as much heat for that crappy 91oct.

Not seeing 11psi until way up in the RPMs is the problem the wastegate solves :D. Lund had no problems tuning it. IATs do rise but theres a substantial power increase regardless even on a smaller blower. I have a P1X which is a little bigger, but my friend with this P1SC also felt a major difference before/after the gate regardless of IAT/timing.

That being said I give you that a standard setup is easier, no worrying about changing springs, etc. but it is worth the trouble for the midrange bump.

Wait what? you said stage II. Did you mean stage II inter-cooler only? 6 rib is HO, and different pulley ratios.
This ^^^^^
Every setup is different and depending on other mods and where you live boost will vary.
I ran the 6 rib set-up for 12,000 miles and pretty much maxed it out with the P1SC-1.
They make a 3.2" pulley but that over spins the head unit (If you are running it to 7000+ rpm). I ran a 3.4" and would see 10-11 psi on the six rib at 7200 rpm.
If you are running a 3.9" with a six rib I would "guess" you are in the 7-8 psi range.
I converted to the 8rib - full stage two set-up and am running the 3.85" pulley and seeing 13.5 psi now at 7200 still on the P1SC-1.
Been boosted for 20k now. No opg or cs here... to each their own on that topic.
Why is Lund telling you to stay under 10psi?

I would, thats the reason why we limit our systems to 8-9 psi.
Cause they have to be used all over the country. (world)

Have fun man!
