2018 airbox hydrocarbon filter screen

I went looking for this today and found it in top part of airbox plastic welded in front of maf tube. Nice emissions carb cert piece for Ford only as it is not helping a 7000 rpm motor breath more efficiently by any means. Lol. Oh know, my warranty is gone now... .

Rip out that ugly, useless, engine bay cluttering sound tube that I can see in your pic while your in there ripping things out!

I did’nt look, but maybe Ford plastic welded half a dozen super tampons inside my intake tube close to the TB. We got to keep that intake noise down!! Lol.

Yep. Pull top part of box out. Pops right out with flat head.

Has anyone logged with this and without to make sure the MAF is reading cleanly with it removed? I doubt its anything to do with laminar airflow but just curious. The mesh screens used to be important for proper readings.
