I can't believe after the 3 years since the introduction of the S550, that none of the aftermarket companies have made a rear wing that looks like the 1970 Mach1.. I for one would love to install that on my S550! Does any M6G users know if the actual reproduction wings for the 70's Mach 1 would fit or would it be to big?

Thanks

I have a 69 Mach 1 with the "droopy end" spoiler (70 is same). You would have to see if the standard reproduction brackets would sit flat on the bootlid of the S550. You might need custom brackets to make it work. I also think it might be a bit narrow for an S550.

Have a look at the 2019 California Special rear spoiler - maybe a modern take on the droopy end? I think the CS already has most of the parts needed for a 50th Anniversary, 2019 Mach 1 (if Ford ever do it and forget the hybrid/electric rubbish) - Offset Tri-bar emblem on front grill, side scoops, side stripes and at a stretch the "droopy end" spoiler. It just needs the bonnet black-out, hood pins and hood scoop or shaker. There it is Ford - make it happen!

Take a look at these. Obviously not exact replicas, but it seems like they're the closest you will get to that kind of spoiler for an S550. I honestly think that it basically resembles the 70's Mach 1 spoiler, only redesigned to fit/flow with the s550. Only real difference IMO is that the pedestals are a little more prominent than the original ones found on the Mach 1. The spoiler is from @Anderson Composites (available in Carbon Fiber and Fiberglass) and it's their Type AT spoiler. Found these random pics online. (with a pic of a random Mach 1 for comparison. Seems pretty dead on)

Thank you for the info. The Anderson wing looks twice the height and double the thickness as the original MACH1 wing. I'm checking with some local fabricators to see what the cost of making a 1-off for me. I am however looking at the replacement hoods from Anderson. I may order an aftermarket 70's wing and see about adapting it to the S550.

If there is a width issue, the 69-70 is not as wide as 71-73 IIRC.
