Thought some more about the pony in the center stripe on the trunk and maybe hood. They worry about the blue bleeding under any 3rd party pony mask. So rather than risk it, I might get some vinyl ponies later to lay over the center stripe which can be removed if a future buyer prefers (or I prefer - can't be 100% sure I'll like it).

Also, changed the blue color one more time. Going with Guardsman Blue Metallic (also called Pacific Blue on some Ford models).

Stripe dimensions will be a 14" center stripe and a 1" stripe on each side with a 1" gap between.

Stripes were going to be painted tomorrow. The bumper covers, mirror caps and all top surfaces of the car are sanded and ready but somehow the painter didn't get the word about painting the CD Outlaw spoiler Oxford White. I'm guessing they can't paint the spoiler OW and then paint the stripes on it the same day but maybe I'm wrong.

I forgot to double check if the GT350R strut brace got painted OW yet. I don't want the plate in the middle to disrupt the stripes on the brace and figured they'd just drill out the rivets and bondo the holes but they said they welded the holes because the bondo could eventually crack.

Should be picking up today. Here are a few pics prior to buffing. Pictures do not do the pearl justice.

Need to get something like that white one after I decide on the width. Try one in the middle of the stripe on the hood and trunk top. The center stripe is 15.5 inches wide. I'm pretty sure I will like it but can't be sure until I do it.

Painting is all done but the crew that puts everything back together is backlogged. Only way to have their best guy doing mine is to wait until Monday. So no cruising this weekend.

I have it back. Needs another visit though. They haven't color sanded or buffed anything yet. I took it home for a few day so it doesn't start feeling abandoned.

I'm hoping the dealer doesn't put two and two together about why that Velocity Blue car I test drove came back with white mirror caps.

Looks fantastic! Love the stripes on the strut tower brace too. That's cool.

Looks great but if you’re going to have such a nice looking brace might want to clean that engine. Just saying...

Looks great! How much did it cost if you don’t mind me asking?

If you mean just for the stripes, it would take some analysis to figure out. I had other things done at the same time, such as painting the strut tower and the CDW spoiler Oxford White. And I had them repaint the bumpers because they were slightly off color from the factory. Most people didn't notice it but I did. I think I could have got the dealer to reshoot them but no way was I going to trust dealer paint as the base for my stripes. To the best of my memory the stripes by themselves were close to $2k including reclearing the bumpers, hood, roof, and trunk over the stripes. I removed and stripped the front bumper. They stripped the hood (vents), roof (antenna), trunk and removed and stripped the rear bumper. I would have done the rear bumper myself but misunderstood it needing to be removed.

Funny thing: On my '17 GT, the factory hood vents are also off-color. I believe they are Oxford White as opposed the rest of my car, which is White Platinum. I wonder if the cars ship from the factory w/o the vents attached and the dealer is supposed to put them on? I never noticed it until the car was a few weeks old...and never bothered to go back. Frankly, if I could buy them painted from the factory, I'd buy new ones but I know they come bare-ABS, ready to paint.

Glad I'm not the only one with a body part color-mismatch issue. :D
