Right people need a bit of help and advice from the community please.

I like many others have changed various bits on my car and the car itself is not something that I can envisage selling.

Theres been threads before about keeping standard or keeping bits for cars but is it really worth it ??

Just off the top of my head I can think of the following items that I have upgraded or changed on my car and so the question is really is it worth keeping ANY of the following ???

**All the following are the standard factory fit items on a 2016 GT
GT back panel
Exhaust Cat backs
Air box and associated piping
Springs
Lower grill
bonnet support
soon a set of wheels
theres loads of other bit that I cant think of at the moment.

So are others keeping their old spare stuff or selling and if so whats it worth ?

thanks

I kept all the bits, thought I would keep the car for a very long time, but sold it a few weeks ago as I have upgraded to a new one, so was very handy being able to put it back to stock, so I can now sell or keep the mods

If you have the space, keep it all I'd say. You never know when you might need a temporary spare if one of your new parts break. Some of it will sell too - assuming you mean the GT deck lid panel? You'll find plenty of buyers in the states for that. There will always be others that may want stock parts too for whatever reason

Yep.. I keep all my bits, and plan on putting the car back to as standard as possible if I sell..

My current plan is to get a new Mustang in 2022. (my 60th birthday).

I've kept EVERYTHING, never know if something aftermarket might fuck up, (Same goes for OEM) but atleast you have backup if you need it.

i've got intercooler, wastegate, intake tube, grilles, sideskirts etc, diffuser, exhaust, downpipe yada yada yada, even got spare parts and what not.

Well this seems to answer my questions, may need a bit of a sort out in the garage then and chuck some other crap away and restore the old car stuff.

I've kept all mine but space is starting to become an issue. I also don't really want to put the OEM parts back on, they look cheap, feel heavy and they're starting to rust.

I didn't take the time to read all the responses, & your initial posting date just might make this response a bit too late. However, w/that said, the only items you might seriously consider keeping are the cats & the OE air box (& piping). I know you mentioned that you do not plan on selling it, but if you fall "face down in your Post Toasties" tomorrow morning, somebody will be selling your Mustang & there are a number of states (CA being the biggie) that will require the cats & the OE air cleaner assy (assuming that your replacement unit is not CA CARB approved) to register the car. Aside from anything that is emissions related, nothing else really matters. :)

Oops ... I am new to site & was just cruising thru the various sections &, needless to say, did not notice that I had entered a "UK Zone". Being old & senile is not nearly as much fun as they make it out to be.

Love it!!! :like: BTW, my 2019 PP2 has a dealer ETA of November 9th ... my 71st birthday!!! And, after 50 years of competition, I made the "executive decision" to retire cuz I want to spend more time traveling ... both here in the Colonies & overseas. :sunglasses:
