I hit 30,000 miles yesterday after 23 months of ownership (of which the last 12 months I did over 18,000 miles). So far in these 30,000 miles I only had to deal with the broken A/C at 8,000 mile mark and no other issues. Oil changes every 3000-4000 miles. Oil consumption steady at 1qt/1500 mile.

I do however have a small coolant leak since day 1 (about 1/4 qt per 8000-10000 mile) but I m afraid to take it to ford.

Car has FP full exhaust, MGW shifter, 20 lb aftermarket wheels, snow tires and 305 square PSS summer tires. I have xpel ultimate on 60% of the car and I regularly clay/add sealant which help a lot.

It’s my daily driver and our only car which means almost HALF of these miles were driven by my wife (super cool to be a mom going to school to pick up the kid in red mustang with close to 600hp and stick shift).

Stock tires last over 20,000 miles. I drove it through 2 winters including 3-4 noreasters last year in snow.

I still enjoy the car equal amount to the day I first drove it. I still find myself coming up with excuses to the wife to go run some errands to drive it extra.

Any other stories?

Congrats! I'm not even close.

You have a good car and a great motor. Care to elaborate on your typical driving? (highway miles, driving habits, etc)

What's the plan when the powertrain warranty runs out?

I'd venture to guess nothing...keep doing what he's been doing. Why would he change cause the warranty is out? Contrary to popular belief, this car is the rule, not the exception.

My driving is probably 70% city 30% highway. Car actually sees two entirely different usage habits. My wife short shifts and car never goes above 3500 rpm whereas I do the opposite. I always keep rpms high, never below 4000 and try and redline multiple times a week on 2nd and 3rd gear.

One thing I got into habit of and instructed my wife to do the same is to never let the car idle when cold and always shift 2500-3500 rpm band. I believe having 50 weight oil while cold circulating is not a good thing.

As for the warranty, I think I will wait till I hit 60,000 miles and make a call. If car continues to be strong and not break, I just wont buy warranty. If things start going bad suddenly, I will pay for it.

I'm getting close to 30,000 but not there yet. I bought the car in November of 2015, so my 3 years and 30,000 miles are expiring at roughly the same time. I have about 500 miles left to get to the 30,000 mile mark. My tires' lives are a lot shorter than yours, though! I've replaced both fronts and rears and the rears are nearing time for replacement again. And quite a few of my miles are with snow tires on the car. Just a handful of track excursions so far, mostly due to the time and expense of replacing the tech pack transmission and adding a rear differential cooler. Many miles in below zero temperatures. The oil level falls to 1/2 way between the marks and stays there between oil changes.

I love the car. Not sure if I will dump it before I get to 60,000 miles or not. I'd really prefer to keep it, but the cost of potential repairs are a concern for me.

For you guys that have the milage starting to get into the 20k + area, would like to know if you are seeing anything like Zombo has found on his car? I'm referring to his thread this week "Is Your Car Rotting Like Mine" well something like that. I would be really disappointed also to find what he has come across! Thanks

Congrats. I’m at 23K. Only issues are the rear facia sag (yet to do the RSB), third brake light taco’d from heat, and the cooler recal.

Don’t use oil like some. ~.5 -1 Qt in 3500-4000 mi intervals.

My oil samples are coming back great so no worries.

Miles are from a few road trips and semi frequent commute which is about 85 miles round trip.

Most fun ever was the 4th of July road trip. Was 3 of us (wife and 13 yr old daughter) and more comfortable than I ever expected. The Recaros are great. The worst part is flat tire anxiety and road debris.

I drive my GT350 year round as long as the Midwest Salt Crew deposit on the road surface is not heavy. I have no body or paint issues like in Zombo's post.
The degree of exposure may be the difference, at 23,000 miles my car sees some rain and very little snow.

I carry a tire repair kit bought on Amazon. Gives me plenty of piece of mind.

I do the same. It’s just old school paranoia.

Good to se others are also driving their cars vs looking at them in a garage.

This is from Car&Driver's 30K mi update. Does anyone else's steering wheel look like this?

"The once warm and fuzzy microsuede steering wheel, soiled over time with hand-care products and sweat, now resembles a beat-up piece of old leather, confirming our suspicions that, when used as a steering-wheel wrap, the material isn't cut out for longevity."
