My hope is simple. I hope there is a Ford engineer who's relaxed enough and enjoying a cookout and decides to tell us some concrete intel on the upcoming GT500. Including when we'll see a production version and when can actually order one! Tired of the hype, waiting and speculation. Let's do this right but do it soon! Starting to look around........

I'll pretend I'm a Ford Engineer for Today. :giggle:

The 2020 GT500 will be an Evolution of the Shelby 350.

720 - 735HP.

0 to 60 MPH in mid 3 second range. Quarter mile in high 10's.

Won't beat a Hellcat or Z06 at the track.

DCT will be standard. Ford quality will suffer from Panel gaps and other issues.

Will be overpriced due to Stealerships charging ADM.

I will still be ordering a 2019 Shelby 350 because it's a better car and Best of Breed. :like:

Mid 3s and high 10s and not beat a hellcat or zo6?

I guess you've never ran or seen those cars run. If the 500 puts down those numbers it will beat both or be a driver's race everytime

I'm predicting a Drivers Race at Best.

According to the latest rumors the GT500 will weigh at least 500lbs heavier than my Z06. That's 50HP+ right there.

I've got a C7 Z06 650HP/650TQ that I drive almost daily.

Know fully well how it runs: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/c7-z06-discussion/4019605-c7z06-fast-list.html

GM claims 0-60MPH in 2.95 seconds and the quarter mile in high 10's.

I've seen many guys get 3.0 yet my best is 3.6.

Lot's of tire spin, I have a manual. Automatics get better times.

From a roll it's a beast.

Off the line, a GT Mustang with 10 speed can beat it in most cases.

Ever notice on every internet fast list. There is always one guy. That's stock trap speed is always 4-6 MPH faster than everyone else on the list? Ever wonder why that is?

That guy is well known and a great driver.

Of course, the track, DA, prep and a lot more goes into getting great times.

Also notice how many car manufacturers get amazing times, aka the Z06 2.95 0-60MPH, the Demon, etc... yet no one else can replicate those times.

I just ran my buddies zo6 a couple weeks ago and I've seen it run at the track a couple times. Without prep/tires and good air it's not a 10sec car. His and others usually trap in the 126 to 129. On the street he didn't pull my 16’ 350 anywhere near what I expected. Add 200+ HP to a 350 and 250 to 300lbs (added weight for supercharger, coolings, brakes etc on the 500) and my money would be on roles reversed.

Im well know on the forums. And a great driver. (If I do say so myself:like:) I also race at Atco. Probably one of the 3 fastest tracks in the country. But I can't make a Z06 or any other car. trap 4 or 5 miles per hour better than anyone else. Driver skill only makes the E/T look better. Not the trap speed. Im with you on manufacturers claims. Ive never seen a 9 second stock Demon either.
