Already seeing many new MY18s for sale from dealers. Are Mustang sales staling? Is the party over for Ford?

After two years of massive sales numbers, there was always going to be a level off.

Remember, Ford expected around 2500 sales a year and got three times that.

Also I believe Ford pushed out dealer lot stock before pre-ordered customers so you're bound to see them on the lots because that's how Ford will get more sales. The dealer close to me was doing just that and making 2019 sales based on their demo/show 2018's.

My two closest dealers still have brand new '17 GT's on the forecourt.

Would be some good buying out there.

July was just before the MY18s lauched wasn't it? When they were mostly held back for checking that problem on the docks?

And with Mustang dominating that segment, Im not surprised it held it back.

Nothing new has come out either, 86/BRZ looks to have a decent rev but nothing out yet, 370z is doing what it's done for a decade.

Anecdotally though the Melbourne Mustang group has exploded in the past 12 months, but not a huge amount of MY18 owners yet.

I have noticed prices have now dropped to mid 60k mark for the 18 Mustangs.

Last I checked a couple of weeks ago a dealer was offering 18 Autos with Maganaride for just under $70K and autos without MR for $65K. Drive away.

Doesn't help refreshing so soon with so many 2016-17 owners not wanting to lose so much on trade-ins for only a slight improvement. (except for that front!!)
Ford made a huge mistake thinking Australian's are like the American's who only lease their cars for 2-3 years before flogging off to the used car market.
US 350 million v's Australia 25 million.:headbang:
