That happens often. The new Ferrari Pista is the same way. 8000rpm for max power and engine speed.
I guess it's possible, I just don't see Ford having it have max power at the max engine speed, just seems odd to me

With a centrifugal supercharger it is more common than with a positive displacement style blower. The Ferrari you mention is turbocharged and it's a small engine at 3.9 liters. They have to wring it out to get the power. With a relatively large engine, that is not necessary.
The Pista has like 500lb ft at 2500 RPM though. Ferrari have these weird things in their engineering department called "Harry Potter wands." I didn't think they existed either until I've seen some new Ferraris do their thing.

Between all the additional components (intercoolers, updated safety equipment, etc.), it was inevitable that the GT500 would weigh 3900-4000+ lbs. Although I am also skeptical about the document, the horsepower sounds on par what the Ford media team said back in January. Remember, Ford said it would make “twice the horsepower as the original GT500.” The original made 355-360 which put the 720 number around that mark.

I dont know how that weight could even be close. I drive a supercharged premium GT. EVER OPTION! And the car only weighs 4100 pounds with my fat 265 pound ass in the car.

Its starts with a meeting and someone saying "I want to be way faster than a ZL1 around the track, and I don't want to have any of the cooling issues GM had, we had enough nonsense with the non track pack cars"

- Functional Requirement 1, Be way faster than the ZL1 at X track

- Functional Requirement 2, Don't over heat in XYZ situations

"Oh I also want to be faster than a Hellcat in a straight line".

- Functional Requirement 3,4,5

You start doing preliminary work, add power here, sprinkle aluminum and composites there. Test everything at OEM duty cycles, things starts looking really good. Demon looks like an attainable as a target.

Then a cost loop happens annnddd 4200lbs +.

There are a few things that make me think this is fake. The bed spelling is clue number 1 to me.

Also max power is at 7500 RPM, which also happens to be max engine speed? Yeah that doesn't seem right to me.
What was that someone said in the news recently The truth isn't the truth. Hopefully this isn't the truth.

I'm 100% certain this is fake. They spelled petrol wrong. Ford wouldn't have any typos on their data sheet. What a joke...

Source? That doesn't seem right.
No? quick internet search 10R80 weighs 230lbs. 3160, 112lbs. 230-112=118. So you are right it is incorrect not 115
but 118 ; )

I did the same as well. I think that 10R80 weight is wet. 3160 is dry and doesn't include shifter. Obviously not huge changes, but probably in the 100 lb delta. Either way it's not the 10R80...

ok. Add 3qts ATF@ 6lbs bringing the grand total to 124. you are nickel and dimeing me man LOL But you are right. Dont think it will use the 10speed. It was just a reference point. A DCT alternative still weighs near 200lbs dry. So you are right again. There will be about 100lb difference in xmsn.

notice how nobody at Ford or FP is saying anything. I'm willing to bet it's all correct.
We have been told by a fella here, for months, that it wasn't going to be much past 700HP and weigh well over 4000 lbs. here we are at 4200+ lbs and 720hp.
I didn't believe him, maybe because I thought Ford could do better, especially with the time frame given.
whatever... I'm sure the car will an ok driver.
