So I was wondering what some of you guys that pull low 60 foot times do to launch your twin turbo cars? I have a Boostworks kit with Comp 6062 turbos and a Circle D 3B 258mm converter. I came from an AWD 5 speed drag racing background and my first time at the track with my Mustang left me feeling like my 60 foot times were pretty bad.

My problem was that I was pulling through the brakes while trying to build boost. I was only able to cut 1.65 60' times and ran a 10.2 @ 140. My question is how do you guys foot brake effictively? Do you hold to a certain rpm and flash it or can your brakes hold back the car with your foot to the ground? I'm new to auto drag racing and any tips would be appreciated.

Thanks

You'll barely build boost trying to foot brake before you start blowing thru the brakes ... You need a transbrake to really lock it up ...

You could add a 2-step, that'll let you get a little more rpm on the converter foot braking ...

I have the same issue you do. Twins and a 2B converter. On the 2-step, I push through the brakes at 3000 RPM once the boost goes positive.

I've added a 2-relay transbrake so that should solve the problem. I'm surprised you push the brakes with the looser 3B converter.

I can only get about 3200rpm out of my 3B before it starts to push thru... Transbrake is the answer!

I’ve been footbraking for almost two years. 3b with two step. Usually 60 low 1.5 and 1.4’s. I’m gonna try the tb and see if I can’t get consistent 1.3x’s

What rpm do you hold it at?

With two step push hard on brake and floor it. Wait second or two. Let off brake and she goes. If I’m on it long enough it’ll build 4 lbs of boost.

Consider the aerospace double calipers for the rears.
I have a 2B converter and I can now build 7 psi on the foot brake with the 2 step set to 3700 rpm .

Guys what wire are you tapping for your MSD 2 step off the brake pedal on the auto cars?

Did you ever figure out which wire to tap into?
I use the brake light switch positive wire that sees 12V when you press the pedal, that way when foot braking 2 step is active!

I have footbraked a 1.45 60' before i put the 2 step on. stand on the brakes and slowly bring rpm up. Highest "boost" I saw was 0.0 or 0.1.

Put the 2 step on and have now seen up to 5psi without a transbrake. Only been to the track once but had other issues so no times to report.

I had trouble pushing through the brakes on the 2step and footbrake. I wonder if its because I have a 2B and you have a 3B.
