i am noticing at the dragstrip when I shift up to the next gear that there is a slight delay . It seems I am in the next gear with my foot on the floor and for a split second there is no power. When watching video it seems like I’m shifting too slow. Is this a tuning issue. It is most evident in 2-3 and 3-4 shifts.
This can’t be helping my ETs . Anyone encounter this?

Yup, the stock tune does that to protect clutch and/or transmission. You can have it tuned out, it is part of tip-in imanagement n the tune.

Ok interesting . Wonder why my tuner would leave that in there. I guess I'll wait a decade for them to answer my emails

Thanks

Wouldn't a tuner tuning a supercharged car typically remove that ? So annoying.

They will usually if you ask, Most leave it on to attempt to protect parts.. It becomes quite noticeable as you get used to the car I believe it held me back for a long time when i was right on the edge of 9s with my old blower setup.. It is now off and no hesitation after shifts bangs right into gear and power stays up.

Ok thanks for the info. I'm wondering if it is hurting in my launch also as I am struggling. Either I hook and slight bog or I blow the tires off. Can't break below 1.74 in 60 ft with Et street r bias ply . I will ask my tuner to shut it off, if they ever reply .

I acutally leave it in the files, unless a customer asks for it to be removed. Cause I have guys that want their shifts "smoooooth" lol.
Because they got so used to how it drove from ford with all the TQ reduction.

But yes, your tuner can remove that.

I believe Lund turned off torque reduction by default in my tune, I had a few bucking issues and they said it was because of that being turned off, but that the car would feel very laggy with it on.

They turned off something called "anticipation logic" to solve part throttle bucking issues I had on shifts. Maybe ask about that too.

After reviewing the logs my tuner says I am hitting the rev limiter between shifts triggering a throttle delay. He moved my soft limiter higher. I must be on the clutch a bit early and flaring as I shift.

Are you getting any false knock when you shift? If so could it be your timing getting pulled? I’m memory serves torque limiting is only on first and second gear.

I never see any knock sensor activity.
you should have some activity... either positive or negative if the system is active.
(not as much in lower gears, but for sure the higher gears)

That's what I thought but my tuner says all is good and knock sensors are definately active . He raised my soft limiter a bit and my hesitation is gone. My last 4 logs show 0 across the board for the knock sensor. My guess is he does not allow them to add timing and commands max timing he wants the car to see. I hope..
