That appears to be the case on my car, yes. Did not notice a performance difference in trap speed or ET.
so would you say its a wash in gains? and just simply adds engine noise and under hood appearance ?

CAI really don’t make much gains, maybe about +5 for the air intake itself. Long tunes is what I saw pick up power on my 18.

The stock airbox on the 18 is very good. Flow characteristics, tube diameter, and heat management, it's hard to beat.

Not all CAI are equal!

A open CAI in trafic in hot weather is really more a "hot air intake"
However I have seen substantial gain on the dyno and at the track with colder engine temp after a cold down! I Will not mention the brand I don't want to start a argument lol.

Agreed. It did ad power to my 15 on the dyno. The big question is are they worth the cost? For the power they make. I'll keep my opinion to my self also as to not start an argument. But on my new boosted set-up. I bet it's worth the 300 bucks.

Try a couples brand before finding the one that worth the money for me! Some are useless.

For the gain I got at the track it's certainly worth it for me. Way cheaper than my skinnies!!

Would not have run that 10.9's without it so ....:)

The 2018 has a redesigned intake tube and airbox.

The JLT CAI added zero performance gain to my ET or MPH at the drag strip.

Its's your $350... spend it somewhere else and dont waste it like I did.

Best suggestion I can give, inbetween runs in the staging lanes, just leave the car turned off and the hood open to help keep temps down. That's what I do when I'm at the track. Helps with IAT's and what not.

After I slow down from a run, I like to pull the hood release so the hood cracks open slightly as I am driving back to the pit area or staging lanes. Lets some cool air in to drive some of the hot air out.

JLT intake added close to 20 hp mostly at high rpm and around 1.5 mph in a 1/4 so it worked for me car dynoed 433 with E-85 only than added JLT cold air n xpipe resonator delete and made 452 it was same temperatures around 69-70 outside so I’m happy with it !

Very nice. The added 19 hp was likely from the exhaust mods though.

I installed my JLT before my suitcase delete and saw 0 gains.

I then installed my Magnaflow 3" resonator along with MAK cat deltes and gained 2 mph and a few tenths ET.

It's well documented with slips in my install thread on the Magnaflow resonator....

Wrong resonator delete won’t give you that I would say maybe 5 hp but that’s all but anyways the point it’s the intake helps and it’s not a wasted at least in my case so unfortunate for you good luck next time

I’m wrong and you’re right yet I provide documented proof the JLT is wasted money and you just provide nonsensical talk.

LOL. Gotcha.
