I'm looking for some new rear tires for my mustang. I'm just wondering if anyone out there knows of a good tire/brand that will help with my cars acceleration. Something affordable but with a good looking tire tread. I was looking into the Michelen pilot sport tires or the BF goodrich comp 2's. Anyway If someone out there knows of a good affordable tire please let me know. Thanks

Are you looking for high performance all season or summer?

DWS06 -- but it depends on what you mean by affordable... sure you can get better tires for $50 more per tire (if you go summer only or winter only... depends on what you are trying to do).

My all season dws06s were around $150 per tire (maybe cheaper), if I remember correctly.

The tire section on this forum is great for doing your own research and reading about what others purchased...

Affordable? Michelin? Haha. Michelin is top of the line buddy.

I’ll 2nd the Indy 500s they are a great summer tire and cheap.

The Nitto G2s are not bad at all for the price.

Those are probably the best cheap tires available, then you have your no name tires which if you can afford a mustang then you can at least afford some nittos or firestones.

If you're going to look at Nittos, you're better off going with Toyo. Toyo's are slightly more expensive, but they last longer than Nittos. Toyo owns Nitto and upcharges so much for them that they can afford to sell their main brand with a smaller profit margin.

But if you're looking for an all season, then I second DWS06.

Nitto Motivo user...not tried others; short of the PSC2's that it came with, and likely won't mess with those short of a track day.

Hmm. Not really sure. I live in Texas where it's mostly hot all year round. So I guess I should go with summer tires? Not really sure. What would you recommend ?

Thanks everyone for your feedback. Looks like I got some homework to do. Much appreciated. Now I have it narrowed down :like:

Go to TireRack.com and use their reviews and the tool they have to help you choose.

Note: Tire Rack doesn't cover "looks" but they do include pictures.. :-)
