When I upgraded my base model GT to MFT, I noticed that charging my phone from the USB ports under the arm rest was super slow and my phone would still drain if using any kind of app. So, I decided a dedicated USB port would be a good solution. A quick search on Ebay resulted in many different options but I ultimately chose one that is small enough to mount where the HVAC temp(?) sensor is. I got power from the driver power seat, so I installed a switch to allow me to turn it off when not in use. Below are some pics. Install is pretty simple, so I won't go into detail. I will, however, answer any questions yall might have.

Nice, but to be safe is there an airbag behind that panel? My trim piece there has an airbag tether strap.

I put in a similar switch to add a dome light override.
