2018 GT Weird Rust Spots on Rear Calipers

Just noticed that I have rust showing on my rear calipers. It looks like its coming from the small metal flat piece just above the rust. This car has never seen snow or salt. Anyone else have this problem?

Brush it off when washing your car. That is nothing but the rust "run-off" when brakes are wet.

Brake calipers will rust. They're steel. The rust must start where it will, but it should never impede the function of the caliper only it's cosmetic. But a lot of guys paint the calipers or cover them but it's a tough battle since they really take a beating.

Just rust from the brake pads running down the caliper....not to say the caliper wont also start rusting eventually. #steel #oxidation
