So the Camaro SS with a stick is 3/10ths faster 0-60 and 2/10ths faster in the quarter. I keep thinking my GT feels sluggish. Time to out it on a diet.
Haha. Well, these days we call a 12.6 sluggish! Times have changed for sure. It isn't always about the tenths anyay, especially on the street. In the SS you can't even see out it's like a mail slot.

And the Mustang auto is way faster anyway. Like around 12 flat.

To each their own. I'm enjoying mine. Wish it was lighter but not easy to do that. Weight is the price we pay for comfort and crash safety.

If you have a manual transmission, you are already doing pretty well. To get magazine times, you are going to have to flog the crap out of your car and make a lot of passes to get the feel just right. It's a fine line between bog and tire spin and you really don't know the optimum shift points.

Consistent 1.7 sixties are pretty good IMO. What tires are you running out back and what is your launch technique?

Heck, 1.74 has been my best sixty to date and that’s a FBO car on E85 and 305/45/17 MT ET Street Rs. Here are some time slips.

If you are getting 1.7 60s, you may want to re-evaluate your shift points.

Re-evaluate shift points or launch rpm? I think 1.7’are decent, but 1.5-1.6 would be much better.

I’m interested in hearing how @Seeyalater21 launches and what else he’s done to achieve that consistency?

I meant 5.1 0-60 time and 13+ quarter mile seem inconsistent with 1.7 60'. Shift too soon, too late? Red line is not the optimum shift point. Sometimes, it's between max torque and max horsepower.

Oh okay. Yes, the shifting will need to be on point until 3rd or 4th gear (depending on tranny and rear gearing) and then you’re just along for the ride at that point.
