2 velocity blues within 100 miles of me. I went to see 1 of them today, $49k MSRP with PP1, Auto, 401A, but missing Magneride. I was blown away at how stunning it looked in person though. Some other colors for comparison next to it, including one with lightning blue.

I've seen in person also, and its killer. But theres something about it that just doesnt quite get captured in any of the pictures i've seen. It looks so much better in person.

Would agree on pics not capturing the presence of the car in PP1. Shadow black is hard color to see all the details.

I've got a DIB car and just couldn't get into any of the other S550 blues until now. This Velocity blue looks amazing!

I like it. I've got a lightning blue 18, and love it, but I think the velocity blue is still killer.

I've seen them both side by side and the difference is so so so difficult to see. I honestly don't see the point of modifying a shade so slightly - yet VB is lighter than LB - but only just a little bit. I doubt many people will be able to tell the difference. In the end, it's going to be another blue that'll date the car......but if you like that shade of blue, get it while you can. If I considered a blue, this would be it over Kona, but it's hardly distinctive and it'll look dated more quickly than the classic colors IMHO. Of course I'm zeroing in on Oxford White with Black Pkg and Showstopper Red - an unusual combo - so with that odd interior I guess you know where my preferences lie.

If by 'dated' you mean easy to tell the year because of the limited production years of it, sure. These blues look great and are different than the over abundance of plain white and black cars. I'd say a red interior is more dating, but they still look pretty nice.

I think you are right. Side by side the difference is obvious. Parked in isolation, in less that full sunlight, I think you would be hard pressed to tell the difference unless you owned one. I'm not sure why it would be dated yet at the same time not be distinctive. It's blue. I think it hits a nice medium of adding some color if you don't want to go neutral (white, black, grey, silver) without being too flashy or unusual (orange, green).

They’ve had an eco boost in that combo at Koons in silver spring for the past 6 months that hasn’t sold so that tells you what people think, but I sort again last week and still like it. I’ve had a yellow, ruby and two bright reds so I like a little more snowy colors. My wife likes orange fury it’s too odd for me. The white Black SS shoes nice to me and I’m going to tint the windows.

Based on another thread, came across this one for sale at Erinwood Ford which has a few pictures with a Lightning Blue convertible next to a Velocity Blue coupe in the background.

Below is another side by side I took. Velocity is lighter but the biggest difference is that Lightning is a regular metallic while Velocity is a pearl. In fact there are 3 separate pearls in the formula. I chose it for my over the top stripes.

You already bragged about your stripes in the current VB threads. Did you really need to revive an old one too?
