Proper gear selection is crucial to optimized et. As an example my 2000 GT with 252 SAE rwhp ran 8.10 in 1/8th and 12.76 @ 105mph in the 1/4 with 4.30 gears.

96-01 Cobras at the time were running high 11’s in the 1/4 with 4.56 gears and ~300 rwhp.

Whats next..5:13's? or not available for irs..
I believe for the super 8.8 yukon has a 4.56. If i had the 18 with the 3.24 first gear id want the 4.56. But on 15-17 id say 4.09 is good as i think its 3.66 first gear?

Where can I find the gear ratios for the MT-82 D4?

Wonder what the '18MY skipshift(2,4,6) from 2nd gear on feels like with that range of ratios. ..better or worse than my '15 gtpp?

I think the gear spacing is nice on the 18. However i test drove an 18gtpp and i dont like the 3.73 with the mt82d4. Im more for 1/4mi so if i had an 18 id be getting a yukon 4.56. But thats just personal preference.

This is just my perspective, I had a T-45 with 4.30 gears in my old GT and loved first gear not hated it and that's with ~1500 less rpm.

4.09 is only 8% larger than 3.73.

I would love to get ahold of a 2018 manual with a set of 4.56 gears. The thought of it puts a smile on my face.

Yes but first gear is super low in a '15 MT82. Like a MT82 with a 3.31 has shorter gearing in 1st than a 1970 Boss 302 with the 4.30 drag pack diff and top loader trans.
