I want to install an Oil Separator on the 2018 GT350 and I'm trying to decide which one to put on.

JLT or Ford Performance

I'm only doing the passenger side as the car won't be tracked and I think that will be enough protection.

I just ordered a JLT. I have had good success with the one on my 500.

I have the Ford Performance one, and it is definitely collecting the nasty stuff.

There are several threads talking about them. I’m very happy with the JLT. For any separator when you receive it make sure you open it to verify there’s no manufacturing debris that you might later end up dumping back into your engine.

JLT works for me. Easy to install, fits just right and doesn't look all that bad.

I was going to go with the JLT, it is $40 less, but I just spoke to one of the techs at the dealership and they recommended getting the FP for both sides.

Any issues and Ford will have a hard time pushing back on one of their own parts.

I got a decent discount and they ended up costing $155 each.

I went with the JLT passenger side only...Easy on, easy off.

If you search, you'll see the driver's side doesn't collect much if any at all,

I went with the Ford one. It looks like it came with the car.

Not necessarily. FP is a separate division and still considered aftermarket, hence the big disclaimer on their site saying that they’re aftermarket parts and do not fall within Ford warranty.

^Looking legal has nothing to do with a visual inspection. Station inspectors compare plumbing with published routing schematics.

Closed loop catch cans are CARB legal, so shouldn't have any trouble there.

I went with the UPR, which is a nice setup. Got both the passenger and driver's side, but the driver's side (which is the intake side for the PCV system) won't catch anything unless you somehow get a giant splash of oil coming out of the valve train.

So you are telling me that EVERY SINGLE smog licensed individual compares ALL the cars they get in for a smog test with the published routing schematics?

In an ideal world yes. But in reality no, if it 'looks' like it belongs most places probably won't worry about it. Especially if it says FORD on it vs a soda can shaped shiny object with no/aftermarket name.
