IIRC, there is no external difference. The NAV systems have a gps receiver built in to the APIM, so it's all internal.
What Forscan changes would be needed though?

Trying to get all my ducks in a row while I wait on my harness, my Ford USB Cables (apparently back ordered) and my bezel (next day or two). I'm gathering all the programming changes I need to make with FORScan etc.

I am assuming since I'm non NAV, the Amazon antenna will work fine for me as it just effects the compass direction - right?
Amazon antenna - yes.

Summary of as-built changes: https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2181378&postcount=910

So if I went from Sync 3 NonNav to Sync 3 Nav what would I change in the ACM/APIM?
ACM, I don't believe you have to change anything.

APIM - see my link above for a summary of as-built changes.

I don't think that's correct.

Note that changing those characters doesn't enable nav on a non-nav APIM.

In theory, any nav APIM you purchase will already have those characters at those positions.

Are there physical differences between the two? I didn't notice any when I swapped out my wife's. Then again I wasn't really looking for any; I just checked to see if the new one fit in the same space as the old one.

Externally, not that I'm aware of. Different part numbers, obviously. Inside, the nav units have more flash ROM for the maps. Something like 8gb vs 32gb, but my memory is fuzzy.

I bought another APIM, NAV this time that I will just reload the current Sync3 as built that I have already.

I should just need to change that one line as my non-Nav Sync 3 is fully working.

You shouldn't need to change that line at all to get nav working. When you replace your APIM, it will have it's own as-built from whatever vehicle it was in before. What you have programmed in to your current APIM will NOT transfer over to the new one.

Premium bezel came in today. Great shape - very pleased.
Ford USB cables and Hex's harness and I'll be ready.

Touch screen, APIM, bezel, USB hub, cables, adapter harness - I'm in for less than $675. Well worth it to me.

O.k. swapped to Nav APIM. The only thing I had to change from my existing Non-Nav APIM Abuilt was the values discussed.

Everything works great!

Hey guys

Has any other MFT-Sync 3 guys had any issues with Climate controls on the screen?

My climate control works with the hard buttons, but it doesnt come up on the screen and the soft buttons also dont work.

I believe 7D0-01-01 xxxx xxx2 xxxx is the As built I need to change I just dont know what I need to change it too

My car is a 2015 GT Premium w/ dual climate, Cooled/Heated Seats, Etc.

Can I get the as built info from my Vin Backup info?

I also lost my Steering wheel audio controls, not sure if that is related

Thank you
Dave
