Just thought to put it here. If anybody knows of a new magnetic 350R with black stripes, I am looking for one :) Thanks!

Two of them that I could find:

1FA6P8JZ2J5503752
1FA6P8JZ3J5502139
If those VINs are correct, those are both non-R GT350s. The GT350R VINs start as "1FAT"

That only applies to '15 - '17 R models. All of the '18 cars are FA6.

According to the VIN decoders I could find on-line, this appears to indicate a difference in the airbags.... with the "T" signifying front and knee airbags and the "6" indicating front and side curtain airbags.

I also learned that convertibles have the "FAT" VIN sequence, perhaps indicating that the earlier R models had airbag systems similar to convertibles... perhaps due to the fact that they were two-seaters and the rear seat wasn't available as an over-the-counter add-on until sometime later in that production run.

Another theory is that perhaps the federal gov't has changed the side curtain airbag requirement for '18 MY cars.

Regardless, the "T" wasn't an R designator, but rather one tied to airbag system design.

Hey guys, I'm in the market for a 2017 GT350 Alabama area. What is the likelihood of finding a 350 below MSRP right now?

That makes sense, thanks for the clarification. It's sad that it changed because it was so easy to tell if the VIN was for an R or not. I'm also confused why the airbags are different between the two cars in the first place for 2015-17s... It also shows how much I know working for the company  I'll be over here in the corner if you need me :headbonk:
