Was at the Rochester NY show today to see the silver 15 there......Looks GREAT in person btw :headbang: Next to the 15 platform was a white /red stripe 14 gt500 vert. What caught my attention was the build date, 2/5/14. Several sources have said that the last gt500's and 5.8 engines were produced months ago, hood was up but was not able to get a good pic of the build sticker under the driver side. Normal practice in building units would imply engines mating to chassis in close time period. There may be a explanation for this but implys both chassis and 5.8 engines still being produced.

This is an interesting question. Im not sure who suggested the last trinity engines were made months ago but I just don't see how that is possible when they are still selling the GT500. It's not exactly a volume car so I can't see them just having too much inventory of 5.8l engines lying around for months waiting for orders.

Someone who is more familiar with the process able to explain?

The 5.8 line has been down for a while in order to change over to the voodoo. The 5.8's production is over, whats left is most likely a calculated amount of engines set aside for remaining production, and there is always a certain amount of motors that must be stored if warranties ever need to be accomidated. Im not sure the exact amount but its quite alot.

Also, that's not the build date on the sticker. IIRC it's the date the car was assigned it's VIN. Which is why you can't go by the VIN to determine if one car is built before or after another.

That's true, it is in the neighborhood though, it was just that I did'nt realize they were still being built this late.
My own 07 had a date a week earlier than actual build date.

Thanks maverick for shedding some more light on this....Looks like ford for some reason added a new window sticker outside the normal timeline.
