How are you guys cleaning the ceramic barrel of the R carbon fiber rims? Pressure washing seems to work but is there another way? Thanks in advance ........... Dos ;-)

I have been looking into this as well. That section of the wheel looks so bad when it's filthy. I have seen that a Steam Cleaner will help with getting dirt and grime out from the ceramic. I found this video of a detailer using a steam cleaner on the wheel with good results. [ame]

Next time i use the cleaner, i will try and remember to take a brief video to show it abilities. While the steam cleaning is useful, i just dont feel you need to go that length to get them clean.

I haven't tried Sonax on the R but it's amazing on the standard wheel. Heading back to TX this weekend some I'm sure I'll have to try it on the R before we head back out west.

This was the best I could do, this was using griots heavy duty wheel cleaner, seems to be a sonax light. I typically try to use the mildest cleaner I can to do the job. But even scrubbing wth a green scrub pad and the cleaner this the best I could do. I have a pressure washer but wasn't using it, maybe I'll try it in the future to try and rid the wheels of the few black spots.

I use Black Magic Bleche-wite with PRIMASCRUB (R) (dissolves brake-dust, grease, grime and road film) and a soft bristle brush. Spray and let set for a short time. Regular cleaning the barrels is the price of R-model admission, but the results puts a smile on my face. My barrels look the same as the pix above with a few discolored spots after 8,500 miles.
