Mustang versus Corvette

If I was a younger guy and carried about 40 lbs less on my body I would take a vette. Cost is also a factor. That's why I decided on a Mustang. Plus at my age getting out of a Vette is no fun. If you got the money / credit, are fairly young and fit - go for the Vette. My dream was always to buy a 1963 Corvette split window. ;)

This will be a second car, weekends and track days.

The pricing on used C7 models was too close to not compare :D
The vette is a no brainer for a second weekend track car.
Warrantied for track use as well (if left stock):headbang:

The two cars in question are sooooo different, it doesn't make any sense to decide between them.
Both cars are sporty and the price difference isn't a huge margin - depending on what options you choose.

I don't understand your position here. Could you explain more? Is it because SOOOOO has 5 o's in it? What if for the OP SOO only has 2 or 3 o's?

A Corvette is a true Sports Car, with a much lower center of gravity, only 2 seats, much higher performance, is much more focused on performance over comfort, and costs $20K more to start.

A Mustang is an entry-level Sports Coupe/GT, has 4 seats, has nowhere near the performance, is much more focused on comfort over performance, and can be had for $20K less to start.

+1. Why I got the GT. It's plenty fast as is and with a SC, really fast.
Vette has tons of road noise and wears me out after a while. The tall gearing I don't like either compared to the 3.73s in PP Mustang.

Well said. I agree that those are the differences between the cars.

I still don't understand why you think the same people who buy sporty cheaper cars aren't going to consider the sporty more expensive cars. Especially if a person is considering a loaded up Mustang or Camaro that costs more than a base Corvette.

Thanks so much to a buddy, Travis, for lunch and the guided tour of Sanibel. :D

I had the PDR running for the tour and will put that up by mid-week.

The rental I had was: 2018 Chevrolet Corvette 2dr Stingray Cpe w/3LT, VIN: 1G1YF2D76J5104476
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/vindecoder.php

The built-in 0-60 timer gave a result of 4.0 seconds :D

In the meantime, some pics and screenshots:
