You forgot to plug it back in under the cupholder
+1

There's a sensor that senses the key and it is mounted under the cupholder. If you took the console out during your install, it is an easy thing to miss to plug that back in!

There are 2 clip types. One is Blue and one is yellow. Tasca parts has them.

The yellow clips are definitely these:

https://www.tascaparts.com/oem-parts/ford-clip-w717661s300

The blue ones should be these based on the description on the page:

https://www.tascaparts.com/oem-part...p-w714972s300/?c=aT1NVzE2NDEwNSZyPWxheWVyXzEw

Update to my post regarding these clips.
So there are 3 different colored clips, interestingly enough they are all identical but different prices and may have different composition of the plastic, who knows.

Anyway, the ones I thought were Blue were white when they arrived. There are white ones on the dash bezel along with the yellow and blue. I used them. Worked.

Moving on...

That’s because You can’t use the same data from MFT on Sync 3. If you’re coming from another car, especially Lincoln change it all to match 16-17 Mustang with your options.
I want to make sure I understand how to do this correctly to have the Sync 3 and nav to work from a Lincoln to a Mustang.

I am also interested in the Ford GT theme.

Please bare with me, as this will be the first time I have used ForScan on any vehicle.

I understand the process of downloading, installing and obtaining extended license. I have all the parts setup to do this with the install.

Is the APIM module the only module that needs to be edited in ForScan to make the swap from base radio to Sync 3 w/Nav?

I understand it is best to save the module first in case I need to revert back to stock values in future or run into a problem? Watched a few YouTube videos of this and how it works along with people changing the splash screen only on Sync 3.

Next I need to find a 2017 Mustang VIN with APIM of Sync 3 w/Nav and copy the Asbulitdata of all lines to my 2017 Mustang just to the APIM Module blocks?

This 2017 Mustang GT PP Manual 400a with Sync 3, Nav, RSS and ESP VIN: 1FA6P8CF6H5280256:

Does features like reverse sensors, enhanced security features play a role, as I have both on my 2017 Base GT when looking for asbulitdata for my APIM?

Will the mode feature (Toggle) work as factory with the new APIM data or will I need to change other modules?

I am sure I am forgetting something and will have more questions as I dive more into this. Just wanting a good base understanding of how it works before I start tearing into the install and mess something up.

Drive modes require changes to the IPC, BCM and ABS

Are you installing a new ACM? Adding Sirius or Sirius/HD requires changes and the output and EQ must be changed to amplify the factory speakers properly.

Is your FCIM for a Recaro or heated seat car?

Did your FCIM (bezel) come from a wrecked car or is it new? If it's new, leave it alone.

Yes, back it up. Make ONE change at a time, and take screen shots efore and after each change.

Okay, so modifactions IPC, BCM and ABS is required to make drive modes work as factory..

Do you know what modifaction are in 2017 Ford Mustang GT Manual PP Base vehicle?

No keeping the stock ACM, not really interested Sirius/HD.

The FCIM is from a wrecked 2015 Mustang. I am unsure what the vehicle had originally in it, I have the VIN ( 1FA6P8CF0F5328539 )I could run if needed. But the bezel is the one with the deleted heated/cooled seat buttons.

I think I have found it!
Okay, here is what you need to change for a Sync 3 upgrade from base, including some optional stuff.

This is assuming you are keeping the Base ACM.

ACM:

727-01-01 Factory: D800 2800 00, after Sync 3 Swap: 9800 3800 00

BCM:

Fix hazard toggle operation:
BCM 726-29-02 xxxx xxx0

GT350 Only:

Enable exhaust mode toggle on bezel:
IPC 720 06-01 xxxx xxxx xE

Non GT350:

Enable drive mode toggle (part 1)
ABS 760-02-02 xxxx 7x (GT Performance Pack)
ABS 760-02-02 xxxx 3x (GT without Performance Pack)
ABS 760-02-02 xxxx 1x (EcoBoost All, V6)

Enable drive mode toggle (part 2)
IPC 720-06-01 xxxx xxxx x8

OPTIONAL STUFF
APIM:

GT Splash at start:
7D0-02-01 xxxx xDxx xx

Different colors for different menus:
7D0-03-01 xxxx x0x2 xx
(I did this so the audio screen would show up in red instead of blue to better match the base gauges.)

You could also do the GT theme in combo with the GT splash:
7D0-03-01 xxxx x4x0 xx
(I tried the GT theme, didn't really care for it. I'm running the regular theme set to night all the time so the background is black rather than white.)

Alright, I think have all the parts on order to get the base to Sync 3 Swap done.

$385 Sync 3 w/nav
$7.45 Mouser (connectors)
$397.50 Radio Bezel
$120.51 Tasca (USB cables, HUB and spare clips)
$136.18 Amazon (OBD Link, Wire, GPS Antenna and trim tools)
$30 Brackets

Total for my swap $1076.64

Would have been under or close to 1k minus the trim tools, spare clips and 22 gauge asst wire.

I went ahead and bit the bullet and order the extremely expensive radio bezel with the deleted heat/cooled seat buttons. The plus side is that it already had the red gt350 start button installed.. so that is a good thing and a $50 option.

After this I plan to do the digital dash swap.
Where did you buy the non-heated seat radio bezel?

I found it on Ebay.

Correct, that's some of it, but don't just copy that info into the APIM
Okay, just tring to figure out how all this works. Been searching a ton of threads, but just a ton of info to process.

Find a 2016-17 car here that matches your options (reverse sensors, auto vs. manual, nav or no nav) and you can copy the APIM as-built from that.

http://media.4rev4.com/s550-as-built-library/

My post you quoted above is good, current info for the other modules AFAIK.
