How did you get more torque out of your Mustang?

I'll be getting a 6 speed GT with PP1 soon. I'm looking for options to add low end torque without changing the 3.73 gear.
Tune?
Intake?
All options are appreciated.

Tune would be #1. Personally, I love bolt ons with a tune since they go hand in hand. See where you like it from there.

Tune is the best.

A throttle modulator like the SprintBooster etc helps the pedal response too.

Another thing I do is start in 2nd gear sometimes.

How big was the difference after a tune?
Drastically different. You can feel the difference, but if you need that extra reassurance with a dyno, do a before and after. There's a lot of posts on here showing stock versus tuned. Night and day difference in both numbers and feel. Just make sure it's a good tune from a reputable tuner and you're gold.

Because first is nearly useless?
First is plenty useful. I'd not recommend making it a habit to start in second. Your clutch will thank you. Not saying you cannot...

Because first is nearly useless?
No it's not useless unless you mash the pedal. I guess my answer was geared towards day-to-day driving on the street. I let it catch the clutch at idle speed first and then gradually give it gas. I'm not sure the clutch slips anymore than it does in first as scrubber3 alludes to but I'll pay attention more next time.

Nevertheless, yes agreed don't do it everytime.

Doing a tune makes a big difference in mid-range torque.

Tune + intake and try that for a while. Keep in mind that you bought a high-revving V8.

When I was NA I noticed a big difference going to E85 with my Lund flex fuel tune. On E85 your able to run more timing even all the way down in the low revs.

You don't have the car yet.

Are you certain that you need more torque? What have you driven in the past that makes you think you'll need more?

Really, more torque might just mean more tires replaced.

^^This.

Slow down some. Get the car. Learn it. Then make goals for yourself on what you want to do with the car. I think you're going to be surrpised how much that traction control light flickers. And what's the point of more torque down low if your hmm, tires or your hmm, suspension can't keep up?

Hint hint...

You're right, I've driven an '18 non PP for a short test drive. Would have been a 3.55 so I expect the 3.73 will wake it up a bit.
I'm coming from a different model S550 (which I won't mention) that was torquier at the low end than the GT I tested.

And the fact that we always want more...
