Anyone running 305 square on stock CFs?

Ordered 4 305s from Walmart deal thread and now I’m wondering if I should just run all 305s for a season or store the extra 2.

The car is well balanced and I think for the track you will create an over steer condition. Pretty certain you will sacrifice rear traction in the cars current state. For street driving sure.

Good point, thanks.

I am planning on running the 305s square on R-size wheels (not the stock CF wheels) for street use. The PSC2s just get torn up on the street.

If you look at the specs, the 305 MPSS is ~10.7" tread width, vs. 11.0 and 11.3ish for the 305/315 PSC2. However, the MPSS 305 fits a 10"-12" wheel so it should be fine on the 11" front/ 11.5" rear R wheels, and its cross section is a bit more "square" than the PSC2. Will certainly give up ultimate grip, but will probably be a better street ride and maintain a factory-like slight stretch on sidewall, both front and rear.

I agree - the PSC2s get torn up on the street, and they're $$$ for short tread life... but I use them as a bit of a limiting factor in how many random miles I put on the car in a given season - and keeps me from driving it in bad weather.

Since I'll be tracking it with same tires - I think I'll stick with the stock configuration given the above comment regarding balance - and just grab a set of stock rears in the spring.

Grab them while you can.

You can run them with out issue you might have slightly more over steer but nothing you couldn't compensate for. Towards the end of the season I was using the over steer and running a pound less in the back.

Use the money you saved at do a extra track day or pay for insurance for one :frusty:

Side note from what I read these wont last a season...

I’m hoping to get 1-2 weekends out of them and regular street driving summer thru fall.

I have 8k on the original set w/no rotation and factory alignment and one very mild session. They’re bald, but fine in dry weather as long as I don’t drive like an absolute fool.

I’m hoping with adjusted camber (outsides wore much faster) I can see a couple track weekends and maybe 5k on the street

That's about my experience. I'm at 3800 miles + 3 track days on my original set of Cup2, factory alignment (i.e. no additional front camber). They are almost done but not quite; will probably get one weekend out of them in the spring then in the bin they go.

But the part number and confirmation email are for the correct tire. It was worth the risk for me to try it.

So I actually ordered them and made sure my receipt shows the sizes I want. Worst case scenario they refund my money, bast case I just picked up spare set of Cup 2s for under $1200.
