For $2k, above the PP, you're getting different (wider in the front) wheels/tires, different interior trim, Magneride, and cloth Recaros.

That's a good deal.

Blues brothers edition would be a better name for the option. But Mopar has the rights to that name.

Looks like the part numbers for the 2018 cars are starting to appear in parts catalog searches. Wheels are JR3Z-1007-A thru L Haven't been able to ID which are which... yet

Really a disappointment. I don't care about the Magneride, as I was planning on MCS or XIDAs when released anyway.

I was really hoping for a transmission cooler, diff cooler, and possibly 4 pots in the rear as well.

Add in that Chevrolet has already said if you leave the SS 1LE stock, they will honor your warranty even if it breaks on track..............and I may not buy a Mustang in the spring now.

Seems that Ford is just insistent on me getting a 1LE next year.
It seems like Ford's answer is a non-R GT350 at this point. Doesn't look like any config of the Mustang GT will compete on track with the 1LE at around the same price point.

Since when does Cop relate to performance??
When you shop around for brake parts oN Ford's site, all the Brembo brake parts are called cop parts.

Pretty silly.

I think maybe that isn't entirely correct.

A little light-weighting in the right places, some good wheels and tires in the right size, an intake and tune, quality suspension (again in the right places) and a performance alignment / suspension tune = :headbang::headbang:

So let's see .... A 2017 GT at 30k + $6,500 in suspension parts and labor + $1,500 for a little aero + $5,500 for wheels and tires + $2,000 for intake and tune = $45,500. That's $15,000 less than a GT350 in total price, not to mention the lower insurance and maintenance costs.

You can't compare stock to aftermarket. That just ruins the competition as well because you can put the same amount of money into the 1LE and destroy the R.

You can't ?

My point is that a few simple things gets you very close to GT350 performance for a whole boat-load less money. Oh - and a proven workhorse of an engine on top of that.

So from a practical perspective, I think I can. LOL.

We'll see how well the 1LE sells. 'Cuz we all know it isn't necessarily about the HP or a couple seconds on the track - for the vast majority of us.

$6500 How sad. This only further cements my decision to buy a 2017 Fusion Sport with the current $4500 in rebates and another $3000 off for A plan. I'd rather pay 27k for a new car than 45k even if it is slower.
