I don't know. No one ever asked when I had the 2014 GT500. I think maybe the whole time I had it, maybe once or twice. My 2004 cobra is the only other car where I have been asked like this. I'm not sure what brings people over. The stance? The wheels? the bright yellow calipers? My shiny shaved head..? Who knows?

Got to be the shaved head.

I've never had anyone ask on this car but I was surprised at how often people asked about my 2012.

It was completely stock.

That's the best engineered dipstick location I've ever seen. I always wanted to have a car where I needed to remove the Shock Tower Brace and Engine Cover in order to check my oil level.

:headbonk::frusty::crazy:
Seriously. The performance pack strut tower brace is already in the way. Brilliant idea to cover it MORE.

That engine cover is :barf: Looks like the mothership landed. Someone mentioned that D.I. is noisy so probably why it’s like that but I still hate it.

re: the prop rod.

I definitely like it better than struts.

Anyone who's owned Mustangs long enough know that the way you close a mustang hood it to drop it closed from 12" high. They way you never have to touch the paint on the hood or press down to close it. No fingerprints.

Prop rod FTW.

That is exactly the way you close a hood with struts, and how I have closed the hood on my last 4 mustangs. All with Struts. Once the hood is 50% closed the struts lose their ability to hold the hood. So, you just drop it from about 12 inches. :headbonk:

That rod will still work in 100 years time. You would be onto your 10th set of gas struts by then. Struts are for people who don't know how a prop rod works (teenage boys and idiots).

Here is an F type R engine.

No car produced today will be around in 100 years. They'll be discarded junk.

I bump into the guy that has my 98 cobra from time to time. The struts I installed on it in 2001-2003, iirc, are still working like the day they were new. Redlinetuning FTW!

Also, I am 40 years old, and an Engineer. Not a teenage boy, or an idiot.

HISSMAN.You should never mention a beloved S197 Shelby GT 500,or any other S197 Mustang in the same sentence, and make a comparison to the S550,it makes the S550 look even worse, why in God's name did you part with that GT 500 for that ???? - ???

You imply that engineers can't be idiots. Surely you jest.

How does the O P know that the vehicle is the Australian version and not the UK or Eu version? Being in Australia I’d like to know as we’ve had no information as to our specs.
