I find it funny that MRT would conclude the failure was cause by outside force when they have not even looked at the whole assembly or shown evidence of the said impact. To me that is just pure ignorance.
Ignorance or cheapness.

Ah. I see now. I was looking at it on my phone. It just looked like a small crack before the weld. I see where it crosses the weld now.

Did you buy that new? With those welds?

Yeah, so obviously this is a bummer, sorry to hear about it.

However, at this point, since this is $199 part - and note, I'm not being dismissive of cost - if the manufacturer wasn't willing to do something about it (very surprising, given their cost for replacement), I wouldn't spend any more cycles on it. If it can be patched at a shop for $50, awesome, if not, toss it and just buy a replacement from another vendor (and mark the other folks off your list for any future business).

Another attempt by me to explain the Crack failure to MRT and explain my dissatisfaction...

Another Kick back from MRT that they are not prepared to listen. Still blaming it on an outside influence...

CJ Pony have offered a deal on a replacement - But its the MRT again.

So, Do I go with Summit Racing, Mishimoto or Lethal Performance..?

If you are near a trusted Mustang shop I'd take it to their shop and ask them to back you up that its MRT's problem and see if support from a trusted shop helps.

I've used $30-40 universal h-pipes for over a decade, with different vehicles, and never had a problem. If you're going to a shop to have your h-pipe welded, I don't see the point in spending more for a name brand, vehicle specific H-Pipe.

I would take the replacement and put it on and be done with it.

Cracked MRT H pipe again... almost 2 years to the day..
Is it even worth contacting MRT..? After the last debacle.

I would NOT recommend the MRT Stainless H Pipe, if you have one fitted, i’d Suggest getting it on a ramp to inspect the welds..!!!

Nah, I personally wouldn't waste any more cycles. I mean, should they replace it, sure, but it's such a cheap part, and this point, you got 2 years out of ~$200, I'd call it a "consumable" :D

Steeda makes a nice looking H-pipe, I'd expect theirs to be put together a little better.

I've had my MRT H pipe on the car for about 18 months, when I started to get a rattle sound at about 1900-2000 rpm.. it sounded like a heat shield loose or something touching within the system

With the car up on ramps, I crawled under to find nothing loose or touching.. so off to my local mechanic.
After 20 minutes of searching for loose parts or clashing brackets, we noticed this Crack through both the H part of the pipe, the weld and the main through pipe.

MRT consider this as an outside influence and not down to material or Workmanship.. NO Warranty coverage

Has anyone seen this before or can make an educated opinion on the cause..? The crack would be going against the grain of the cold rolled Stainless steel, so I cannot fathom how this can happen... what do you think...?

Bad welds and poor quality control. I recommend Steeda H-pipes; great product for a reasonable cost.
