Does anyone know the process to change the pulley on a paxton. I know you normally break the bolt loose with the belt on but I am planning to install the 3.6 when I put the charger on. Also do you need a puller to get pulley off? What is the torque value for the bolt? What hole do I need the belt tensioner in for a 3.6 pulley? Any help you have to offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
ken

I used an impact to break the bolt loose. Pulley puller to remove 3.8". Then just used an impact to put the 3.6" on. I didn't need to change anything with the tensioner.

Not sure if this is the exact/best method, but I've had no issues with my set-up.

I changed the pully on my s-trim years ago and it came off without a puller. Where did you get the puller from?

I don't think I needed a puller for my Procharged car, but the pulley was really tight on this Paxton. Picked it up from Advance Auto.

yeah mine came off no issue on my PC. There is no way to get it off though if you do not have an impact. I tried to do it without before the air had to come out.

you don't have to have a puller, but sometimes it's tight, and you can wedge it off

I had to use a butane torch to heat the pulley to get it on and off my procharger.

can use a strap wrench to hold it, and a thin pitman puller to pull if its tight.

You can use a wrench/rachet on the bolt, and with the belt on, tap the wrench/rachet with a hammer to break it loose. That's my go to for bolts that are tough to get.

Haven't done my pulley swap yet but I plan on it in the next few weeks. I figured it would come off without a puller.

Zipped my bolt off the Paxton with a small electric impact, I DID need a puller to get the pulley off, no way it was coming off by hand

I called paxton and they said to use an impact gun then take a torch and heat the outside of the pulley. I am surprised that was the method they suggested.

I've heard of guys doing that before. Probably easier than using the puller. Haha. Wonder if my heat gun would get it hot enough...if I can't find my torch.

Heat gun works great for this. I used it and the pulley slid right off.
