I don't like gov't intervention either....but wow...what are you hauling/carrying, or doing, that you need that much protection from the law?

knowing the prosecuting attorney in the county you prefer to get pulled over in helps, and if you know someone on the state police association and can get a sticker...that convo goes much better I've found

Ahh........ You can't be too careful?

But really..... our cars are good for sustained 100+ traveling (Not that I would do that :gossip:).

Hauling / carrying? - Nothing, just want to keep my license and good driving record.

Common sense and being respectful if you get pulled over. You can use that all those gadgets all you want, but when a trooper is sitting on the other side of the hill, its too late.

escort max 360's "laser" identification is completely, and totally worthless. It wont even pick it up.

The V1 will as least beep to let you know you're screwed.

Highly recommend and ALP jammer system.

For reference, I run a V1 in Logic mode, an escort max 360 in highway mode and an ALP 4 sensor system.

this whole setup helps me if I zone into driving and don't look at the speedo.

If you are traveling at such a high rate of speed that you cannot calmly slow down to the speed limit in 3-5 seconds (including reaction time), nothing is going to help you avoid your ticket.

Most Jammer systems alert, then shut down after 2-3 pings from a lidar gun to prevent the blatant indication that you're jamming.

LSP uses dragoneye guns that are updated very frequently. ALP is one of those systems that does get updates regularly, but there are still sometimes 1 month gaps where it does absolutely nothing until ALP releases the update.

and no, i am not trying to be the next generation of smokey and the bandit, I bought the majority of my kit when I ran the gold rush. it sort of helped, but i still caught quite the legal bill.

First off, what are you doing in your car that would put your car's description on a dispatcher channel? :)

Secondly (and seriously) the biggest misconception with Radar Detectors are that they are 'cop detectors' or that 'you can now speed however fast you want because you have it', not true.

They are simply a tool. Just like a set of spanners/sockets/wrenches can put together a complete build of an engine with the right person using them or be a complete set of just dead weight with the wrong guy, Radar Detectors can be VERY effectively in proactively alerting you to radar waves in the near vicinity that happen to match those used by LEO to catch speeders, thats all. You just have to know how to interpret the information it is telling you...

Up to you how you use that information. that said, I refuse to drive long interstate drives without one. I can attest that my 9500ix has paid for itself at least 4x over.

9500ix and self control. My 9500ix has paid for itself already. Reality is that it's a game, if they catch you then just defer it and keep your foot out of it. If I had a 350 it would be harder to keep my foot out of it though.

So I got pulled over on Penn Turnpike the other day, with my 9500ix going and waze up on my phone (mounted on my dash).

The story behind that is it was evening time, and dark out. The LEO was standing in one of those truck pull-off areas along the road with his radar off. Since it was dark, and I was passing a truck in the left lane I did not see him. Apparently, he only pointed his radar at me once he saw me speed by at which point my detector went off and it was too late.

93 in a 70, so watch out folks there is nothing that works 100% out there, I guess I jost got cocky and ignorant of the possibility of getting pulled over.

BTW no one had marked the LEO on Waze, so no alert there, either.
