Nuts!

A well modded 2011-2014 S197 can look good on the outside, and go fast, but that's all.

This! Ive never paid much attention to mustangs until the s550s came out. I think the 05-09 body style mustangs is one of the worst looking mustangs that has ever come out.

I personally hate the s197. Old outdated boxy clumsy look. Glad mines gone.

Nah...the 2nd and 4th generation Mustangs were the worst;

I had an '07 GT, which I loved, but there's no way in hell I'd pick it over my S550. Even if you corrected for the vast difference in quality and features I'd still take the style of the S550 over the retro S197 every day (and I still think the S197 is a good looking body style).

When I bought my '07 is was kind of done for a lark. My best friend has always been into Mustangs but I was always into import cars. I was getting tired of my modified VW GTI at the time and there was an insane deal being offered by a local dealer on new premium GT's so I bought one, more or less, to tease my best friend. It squeaked, it rattled, the interior was made of the cheapest plastic I had ever seen but the car was so damn fun to drive that I fell in love immediately. I eventually sold it shortly after my daughter was born and drove ho-hum vehicles until the S550 came out. When I first saw an S550 on the road I knew had to have it. And that's why I'd stick with the S550, that feeling of 'I don't care what it takes, I'm getting one of those.' I never felt like that about my S197 even though I loved the car. The S550 looks like a sports car. It looks like it's going fast even when it's sitting still.

That pic brings back memories from the early '90s. A buddy of mine had a Mustang II Ghia (black with the tan vinyl half roof) that he built into a pretty stout street/strip car with a nasty 302 because it was what he had to work with back when we all raced on no budgets (I had a '70 Cougar with a 351C). We gave him so much grief about how hideous it was, but that thing hauled the mail (ran 11s at the strip) and spanked many cars in its day.

I loved my 09 S197, but now the look and the interior just wipe the floor with it, love the tech on this car, the ACC is just great. So many great things on this car that the S197 never had
mind you as its 7 years newer suppose that makes sense :D

I saw my old s197 a few months ago, thing had a terrible drivers door ding.
Never had any door dings through 9 years of ownership.
I hear stories that my old S197 is being ragged about, donuts at shows, caked in dirt, I feel that I let her down, she must wonder what she done for me to get rid of her
When I was looking to sell her and order the new one, Steph told me not to talk it in the car, incase I hurt the car's feelings :headbang:

I miss my old 2007 Grabber Orange s197.
The color and body style in my mind was perfect.
Of course I won't get rid of my '15 GT, but just saying I miss the simplicity and clean body lines of the s197.
If given the chance I'd switch back.

On the other hand, the power of the '15 GT is nice.
I initially liked the S197 better, styling wise, at first I thought I would never trade. But I have no regrets at all in buying the S550, the test drive immediately changed my mind. It is just a level of sophistication above the S197 such that there is no contest, IMHO. This car does everything the S197 did but it does it better, especially the civilized ride. The ride in a Brembo or Track Pack S197 was pretty bad for rough.

I liked my s550, but didn't love it like my s197. I don't know why. Maybe it was the color.. I love green cars. My s550 was competition orange and my s197 was gotta have it green. Oh well I moved on and am happy now.

Trust me you don't. I have 3 mustangs. A 1981, 1991 and the 2015. The 2015 is by far the best of the 3. My 91 makes 1000 rwhp and runs in the 8's I rather be in the S550 any day of the week. I love fox bodies I have owned 4 of them. I have never owned any other year in between my 91 and 2015. I can tell you that the people who say the S197 interior is cheap. Well a fox body is even worse. These cars all rattle to no end. They don't make any power unless you spend a lot of money. The only reason I even own the Fox bodies is because 1 is a former Muscle Mustang and Fast Ford project car. The other is rare T-top coupe.

I'll admit I didn't like the pics of the s550 when it came out but the first in person impression was wow. I've had this since August 2011. Still like it. No issues but I'm getting the bad itch to switch up. 65k miles on this old hag

Any problems with it? Im at almost 75k and i had to replace the ac last july.
