A supercharged 5.2 CPC is just too easy and unexciting. It should beat the ZL1 so not taking any chances, this is cheapest / easiest way to do it.
What numbers would make that configuration not disappointing?

Mustang history also tells us that we should expect a Cobra III in the next decade, with an anemic 140 HP and a 10.5 second 0-60. It also tells us that 2019, the Mustang will be replaced with a wedge-shaped front-wheel drive car that will eventually be called the Probe.

Ideally, you just have to follow what Motorsport Racing Category that Ford Performance Racing will be competing in, using the GT500..!


The Mustang GT500 is going to be more of everything, that the GT350 is.

Simple guesswork means possibly lighter, stronger, badder.. etc. More nimble, more pony. How much moAr did ford performance engineers go. (A10/turbo/SC/FPC/etc)

Does it have moAr fiber..? Shafts..? Brakes..? Panels..?





Ford isn't going full hillbilly.. they going after the checkered flag! :first:

The specs aren't even impressive...

Give me a 6.2L stroked to 7.0L, with either 3- or 4-valve heads and a 2.3-2.7L blower on top and a live axle out back and then we'll see a Mustang do 3' wheelie pops from the factory.

Now that's not disappointing. :cheers:

^^^ either that or a twin turbo awd a10 magnaride monster that makes over 750 and can pop over 1000 with factory tuning options. aka GTR/zr1/zl1/z28/grand sport/demon/exotic slayer. either or, ill be on the list. if its an existing mill with roots/twinscrew, ill pass.

For me, None... if it were just a hp number I was after I'd just buy another GT350 and boost it. I'm going to have to agree that a supercharged 5.2 CPC Gt500 would be a huge disappointment.

The news of a 7 litre is exciting, but I find highly improbable. The tall deck and overhead cams means it just won't fit.

But... I wonder if the larger (than Coyote's) bore spacing could be put to good use. Nothing wrong with having another 5.8.

Despite all the speculation, though, I can't help but feel that Ford won't disaapoint, considering their previous efforts with Trinity and Voodoo.
I see that this US forum is too stuck up to give us Aussies a response
