Weird topic I know but this applies to the 15-17 in terms of cargo space. I weekly go to the local fish store and get 5 gallons of salt water in the big jug . Now that I'm getting a 17 I'm wondering if it will even work. I was thinking pushing the front seat back all the way and putting it right there with a blanket.

Anyone have experience with this?

I use to Mix my own salt water when I had my tank.
Pick up some high quality aquarium sea salt mix, a reverse osmosis filter and be done with those water trips.

I have a 7 gal Aqua-Tainer jug that I routinely use to get water for my aquarium. It fits easily in the passenger side footwell.

I have a cargo net in the trunk and just put the 5-7 gallon salt water jugs into the net. Never had any issues with them tipping over. I buy them from the local Petco, forget the name brand but never had any issues using the pre-mix formulas.

thank you guys this is what I wanted to hear. I look into the cargo net and the other jug :) that would be a nightmare to have 5 gallons of salt water in the trunk

I really thought this thread would be about installing an aquarium in the car dash somewhere. Those would be some awesome pics.

The trunk is massive. I think you're fine.

I once fit a commercial multifunction printer in mine.

If I can fit 4 20" wheels with tires in my car, you can fit a 5 gallon water jug. Common. Haha.

Given your sold and current car list. You and I have a very different definition of poor. Poor people are not buying that caliber of cars. :frusty:

The trunk is way big enough don't worry. That said get a good RODI and make your own the consistency will be better. I have three tanks 120G 24G and 55G freshwater.

its a addicting hobby. my tank is a baby 3 feet long 30 gallon :) until I get a bigger tank I don't want a RODI. I only change 3 gallons a week so once every two weeks I get 10 gallons for 10 bucks and im fine for a little while
