Hey guys i only get 91octane at the pump. Want to try out my car with 93octane.
Has anybody here used toluene to increase the octane on your gas?
Is it save to use it?

Calling out OKC #1 spot after axle back install.
stick with 91, you will be fine.
You will not feel a difference in two octane.

You'd be better off running torco accelerator than toluene. You won't see much of a difference unless you're boosted.

If your mustang is a weekend toy then torco is the way to go. You can pick up a case off amazon and use a half bottle to each tank of fuel. You will probably have higher then 93 octane and see a bit more timing, more so with a tune. That may be worth 10-20whp depending. Torco is about $26 per bottle so if you use half the bottle it obviously adds $13 to every tank of fuel. That is a bit much for most people for a daily but not bad for a weekend toy. Of course if you have e85 anywhere near you that would be the best choice.

Ive used both toluene and xylene on a couple different vehicles, both work very well.
I also think torco octane boost is cheaper and works better... get the 5 gallon jug, its a great deal.

So using toluene wont do any harm to the engine?

I vote Octanium, which is good enough to let my boosted motor run a 93 octane pulley.

The amount of toulene and/or xylene is usually the only difference in 91-93 octane. I have used both in my Audi to run a "race gas' tune on 93+additive. Worked well!

No harm... xylene is actually a better yield over toluene, but both work. The yield from either is based on the ratio to gasoline you use.

Like I said, torch is a much better deal IMHO. 5 gallons is around 300$ and you only use 32oz per tank.

I've used Toluene in my blown 92 Fox Mustang years back on the Dyno with no issue. Whipple swears by Octanium.

Been using TORCO for years in many different vehicles never let me down, ran 2 cans per tank with 23 psi.

I've used the octanium and half a bottle per tank had me running a little too rich N/A. My car isn't a DD, so I'm gonna data log and see if lund will revise it with the additive.
