I'd still take a 69/70 over an s550. I think it's the most beautiful car design ever. The S550 really pulls from that design pretty strongly IMO, which is why I think I like it so much. The hood and front bumper look slightly bland to me on the regular S550's. the Shelby makes it perfect.a SBY 70 boss is still my favorite car of all time, And would trade in my RR for a SBY in a heartbeat even though I love the RR.

I've been into Mustangs for many years however the S550 was the only one I actually wanted to own so... The best thing about the S550 is with aftermarket it nearly turns the car into an exotic appearance with it's wide, aggressive stance. It infact does look like an AM which is exactly why I love it.

I agree, and they do remind me of the Aston Martin, when the first came out I couldn't help but think of the opening scene in James Bond "Quantum Of Solace". I've owned a 94' SN95 and a 1973 Mach 1, they were OK, but the 69/70 was always my favorite (until now). The only issue I see is the 69/70 are timeless and look just as good now as they did in 1970. The big question is will the s550 still look as good, or look outdated in a few years. As of right now they look incredible, especially the GT350's.

I may be in the minority here but I didn't care for how the rear windshield to decklid cut down so much. Would have liked to have seen it slope slightly more like the S197.

Of course it didn't keep me from trading my white 14' GT Premium for a black 15' GT Premium. The lines of the car grew on me and driving it feels better than the S197.

I like reading that so many of you feel the same way I do about the S550. I do believe that this body style will stand the test of time and hope in thirty years I'll still be driving a one owner 2015 Mustang.

Both the 350 and the GT have great eyes in my book. From 1971 until 2005 the mustang designers were lost in what direction the mustang should go. We almost had the Probe remember ....They found their way back thank God !

GT or 350 take your pick they both look GREAT !!!!! The 350 track pack rear spoiler really makes it. Wife's car ....it's almost as fast on the street. All it needs is the power pack 3 or whiteyDog stuff...... Next post

As soon as I first saw the new S550 in a commercial, I instantly loved it. (And that rarely happens with me). So much so, that my '16 is the first new car I ever owned. To me, it's by far the nicest of all the Mustangs, and blows many other cars out of the water.

First time I saw an S550 in December of 2014, I knew I had to have one. It was parked under the bright lights of a casino parking lot... looking so fine and new and at first I didn't know what it was. Ford knocked it out of the park with the redesign.

S550 is straight to the point. It's about as modern old school as you can get without messing it up (05-10... sad face). I've been approached multiples times by people who might not no cars that will and ask what it is. When you are up close, it sits low and aggressive and it just looks like a car that would cost a lot of money. Ford did an excellent job with the design and it's not a biased opinion. I thought that as soon as the design leaked.

I have liked the S550 since it was introduced. My 7th Mustang, and I never even got interested in an S197. Just me. Best looking ever? The '70 Boss 302 and very close relatives. The S550 is just a bit bottom-heavy, could be cleaner. And I stopped liking the front end so well when the GT350 came out with the smaller grill and lower fenders that it can have since it doesn't have to meet Euro bumper standards. But it ain't ugly! And it is by far (by FAR) the best-driving Mustang ever.

I am with you on the rear and the decklid. I think the S197's rear slopes much better.

But I own a convertible, so what do I know....LOL

But I do think Ford finally got the convertible right. It looks good with the top up or down....... If you like convertibles... :)

When I got my car serviced last month, the mechanic (female) that serviced my car told me, with a big smile, my car was very "pretty". That wasn't the word I was looking for, but I get why she said it....:D

When I first saw pix of the S550, I really wasn't impressed at all. I was trying to plan to get a used '14 in a year or 2. Then the motor blew in my '05 back in April and I was in the market for a car and I went to a Ford dealer to see the used Stangs; I saw the TY vert and fell in love. When I test drove her, I was hooked. What a difference from the '05, all in good ways.
