That being said, even with my own, pictures seem to not show just how far out that splitter protrudes, so I think it may be the photos just playing tricks on your mind.

I'm sure you must be right. There just isn't a good angled shot of the Mecum car that shows how far out the splitter really extends on the corner.

Oh sticks out a lot. No joke have a few buddies with Rs and some of us regular 350 guys got the splitter and its pretty raunchy driving these LA roads with that thing.
