Just ordered a JPM Coachwork's Alcantara shift boot! Charcoal with silver stitching! And some low profile zip ties to clean up the install on my Boomba short shifter

Installed my JPM Coachworks shift boot today. Charcoal with silver stitching to match the GT350 steering wheel (as recommended on their site) i think it's lighter than the GT350 wheel but not by much. The black and silver would have been too dark though too. So I went with their recommendation. I also paid the additional amount to have it preinstalled on new trim ring (worth it IMO). I just requested they not install the reverse lockout collar since I have the Boomba Racing short shifter. Install was a piece of cake. And got Cobra low profile cable ties like I wanted to have when I first installed the short shifter but never did. It really allows the boot to sit nicely. Top pic is the stock boot.

The new shift boot with the Boomba Racing shift knob. I think the black knob makes the boot stand out more.

And my fourth shift knob in less than a year...lol From, Moddiction. Very happy with it so far. It has the perfect combination of size and weight. The finish came out great and it adds to my interior without taking attention away from anything else. It's the same size as the Boomba but heavier. Smaller than the Anarchy Motive but lighter. I just wanted a white one to see if it would tie the white accents I added all together and it has. Very happy with it so far. Yeah would have been nice to have something custom engraved on it like what Anarchy Motive provided but this will do. For now...lol

Keep the white shift knob! It looks killer, especially with the black boomba lock out collar. And if the moddiction knob feels anything like the one I had in my S2000, I'm sure shifting now feels orgasmic!

Thanks! Yeah the drive in to work this morning was nice. The knob is the perfect weight and size. Shifts are a little easier but the knob isn't too heavy that it takes away any crispness. Here are my thoughts on the 4 shift knobs.

Stock, looks nice for stock, great size and feel, but too light, but it's stock and doesn't have any personality to be the center of attention in the interior.

Boomba Racing, perfect size, great feel with the Delrin in various temps, looks awesome with the shifter. Just a tad on the light side.

Anarchy Motive, a piece of art, great craftsmanship, ended up being too large for my liking, and borderline too heavy. The clear coat kind of had a slight stickiness to it when hot. The weight took away almost all shifter feel. This is a personal preference and nothing negative towards the knob itself. I just actually like a little crispness when shifting, I want it to take a little effort.

Moddiction, perfect size, perfect weight for my liking. The powder coating is nice. It has a light texture to it and a matte type finish but is still smooth to the touch. A great compromise if you don't like wrinkle finish, which I don't mind but is not a preference of mine. If I had to be picky, there was some humidity this morning and I had the windows down, that combined with my hand on the shifter there was some moisture build up on the coating for a short time. But again that's me being picky. I think any of the other knobs probably would have done similar.

You honestly cant go wrong with any of these options. They are all great and serve their purpose. Even the stock one. I imagine even that would find its way into some other models interiors if it fit. Like maybe the Focus or something.

Sadly I had to trade her in and get something less expensive due to some recent financial struggles. But I stayed in the Ford family. I got a 2016 Focus ST with the ST3 package. I had to get something that was less expensive but I was still willing to drive everyday. Lower payment, insurance, and fuel cost. Still a fun commuter for work though. Having to drive the Mustang everyday was killing me. I didn't originally buy it for a DD. But the first thing to go was my daily when money got tight and couldn't afford to maintain it. I plan to be back in the game in 2.5 years when my son starts school and the wife can go back to work

Hey Man, Sad to see the mustang go but you made the right decision for the big picture.
I was wondering if you would be willing to help do some Mustang installs on items you had on the car like Boomba short throw, remove sound tube, spacers. Simple things like that, let me know I'm down in Midlothian at-least once a month and can PM you with more details

Sure thats no problem, just let me know and give me as much heads up as possible. Also i have most tools to do everything on the ground. But I have not purchased a good low profile jack as of yet. So if you need help with spacers I have a torque wrench and all but no way to get the wheel off the ground. And you have to torque them pretty good and would not use a stock jack to do it.

I seen my baby all clean ready for sale and its new owner yesterday when I went to go get some all weathers for the ST. It was a sad moment for me. I hope she goes to a good home. :(
